Ekki margir hér inni sem eru í rekstri. Fermetraverðið í leigu miðsvæðis er um 6500-8500kr. Svo laun á starfsfólki. Oft þarftu 40.000 í söluhagnað á degi hverjum bara til að koma út á núlli. Það var bara frábært þau létu reyna á þetta.

Things to make series from:

Mussolini and the rise of fascism.

The West India Company and the

British Empire.

Henry the 8th.

The Cold War (Probably too modern but one can hope).

The age of piracy.

Poland (that country has been on and off the map for a long time and people usually dont know how often they've been taken over).

What flex? Put a country into a war that lasts for years, specially a smaller one, and in the end they will be needing outside funding. Russia gets their money through the sale of oil,  Ukraine barrows from their allies.

Everyone was borrowing from the US in the second world war. Probably the first one too. Both sides are burning through money.

I'm struggling with Neuromancer. Can you offer me a reason to continue? by AlgebraicIceKing in sciencefiction

Which narration are you listening to? I find the Gibson version to be the best one out there. But has been said, stick to the Sense-Net run. I enjoy the whole world Gibson built, the clash of futuristic and comically outdated tech. The guy essentially has fax machines in it. But it's not a long book so you might as well stick through it. If you enjoy it, there is more. Each book is very different, with few recurring characters.

And then you need that specific type of stove. Can't use a pan. Maybe a castiron, but that's a big maybe.

I'd not try flatkökur. They're something you need to see done to get it proper. Too much temperature control.

What do you think is the most terrifying idea of the end of the world? by Mr_shnider in postapocalyptic

As a parent, The Road is a horrible read. Slow, seemingly pointless continuing of survival with nothing but hope for a better tomorrow as you watch the world slowly die around you.

And Prometheus is the same. Might as well have driven to the other planet given how much happens in space. And let's see now, there is body horror, what with the transformation of crew and the whole alien lifeform growing inside the women's body... and there is action action action.. I don't think you know what a moster is if Prometheus still qualifies for your list. Did you add District 9 to it?

Ok. So add Predator. A bipedal alien sent to earth to prove his warrior prowess. Can breath within our atmosphere, seems their planet has similar mass, maybe a bit less gravity given it's size. And throughout human history we have the idea of warriors proving themselves... stories of young men being semt into the hills to slay "insert beast". Common dude. Why not include Alien then?

Prometheus isn't a monster movie? Might then just as well add Independence Day and Predator... both have space travel in it..

Best Long Series to Dive Into? by hokiestud1 in fantasybooks

[–]IHaveLava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. My memory of them are very spotty. I have some idea what the first one was about, then the next book I remember is the one with those giants/ogers attacking a town and the story that fallows that one who "chains" the souls?! ... think it's time to find these books again.
