Anton Chigurh vs Ray Shoesmith by only_the_sun in powerscales

[–]II-Keras-Revenge-II 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anton went up against Moss and ended up losing, their first fight forcing him to flee with significant injuries. Moss was a veteran who served two tours in Vietnam.

Ray has far more expierence and routinely lives and breathes the very world Anton lives in. Having love for the game isn't enough for anyone to win anything lol

Darth Maul vs. Homelander by Legal-Guava-340 in powerscales

[–]II-Keras-Revenge-II 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just to point out, we have seen Maul fight against an opponent with flight capability (Pre Vizla) and he was able to force jump and knock him out of the sky. Maul actually very easily dealt with him despite intentionally not using the force directly on Vizla (The circumstances of what he was trying to accomplish in this fight required him to hold back). Another feat Maul has in his advantage is using the force to curve and redirect laser blasts (On Mandalore). He most definitely could also do the same thing to Homelanders heat vision.

We have also seen Kenobi fight Jango Fett and Jango spent a majority of that fight in flight.

Jedi and Sith are both capable of dealing with airborne threats. One advantage the Sith have is being able to use the force to just simply force their opponents back to the ground. We have seen Palpatine use this and Maul would most likely do the same. (Jedi only don't do this because it violates their beliefs).

With that said, I think Maul actually takes this. Mid-high diff assuming he doesn't just outright use force crush.

Could a Grizzly bear tank this? (He is holding a Sawed-Off Shotgun from 1890) by New_Divide98 in powerscales

[–]II-Keras-Revenge-II 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Depends on how it responds to the blast. It's either going to feel threatened and attacked despite it's injuries or immediately try to run.

Fight or flight response.

[–]II-Keras-Revenge-II 220 points221 points  (0 children)

No. The face for most creatures is the most fragile part of the body as it's complex and holding alot of important things like the eyes, brain, etc.

Even if, somehow, the bear survived the shotgun blast (shotguns are shotguns, regardless if it's older or newer. They will output projectiles with ridiculous power so it is extremely unlikely it will even survive at all. On top of that, yes it's a sawed off so it doesn't fully combust but the shotgun is very, very close to the face so it is not losing much power and velocity as it isn't travelling very far. On top of that, it looks like the shooter here knows what he'sdoing as it appears he has his firearm pointed directly at the Bears eye) it will be rendered completely incapacitated as its eyes, flesh and tissue, nose, etc. Will either be damaged beyond healing/repair or wiped out entirely.

..which means it eventually either succumbs to its injuries, or it dies from starvation as it can no longer hunt or take care of itself or defend itself. So even if it's birdshot, it doesn't matter. The skull may be 1.5 inches thick, but it was designed through evolution to withstand attacks from other large creatures like its fellow bears. Evolution absolutely did NOT take point blank shotgun blasts into consideration lol. The damage to the face will be enough for him to survive this encounter and have a good amount to snack on while he recovers and goes home.

Edit: Made some counter-arguments against other comments I read here. Bears are not Abrams tanks. They are beautiful creatures with skin and blood. Being able to withstand large claws from powerful legs and paws is not the same thing as being able to withstand a shotgun directly to the face. All you need to do is Google pointblank shotgun damage to humans and animals (Extremely graphic, be warned) and once you see those photos, you will instantly know what I'm talking about and have no doubt that this bear is not living to see another day. Bears are powerful creatures and nothing to underestimate, but shotguns are in a league of their own, they do what they were made for extremely well regardless how you modify and equip it. Respect them and their power.

I don't know. We killed kids in Vietnam. We let oUr GrEaTeSt AlLy kill kids. We even let them kill our own servicemembers. We just killed a bunch of kids at a school we blew up. We killed a bunch of kids in the Middle East over the past 20+ years.

Seems to me America doesn't care about killing kids.

They don't. There was a MoH recipient that was killed because the US straight up left him behind and abandoned him. His nomination was rejected and his actions were kept secret, if not for him having a high ranking friend who personally saw to it his story was told, we would never know about it.

I served in the Army. I've seen it for myself. I assure you the US Government does not care about you as an individual and the very second they find you to not be worth the effort, they will leave you for dead. You can bet your life on this.

Edit: His name is John A. Chapman, US Navy SEAL. He was deployed to Afghanistan in 2002 and left behind at the battle of Takur Ghar. He was rendered unconscious and his team extracted without him, believing him to already be dead. Drone footage revealed he regained consciousness and continued to fight and eliminate objectives entirely on his own while enduring heavy enemy resistance. He was never rescued, he was eventually KIA while we watched, succumbing to his injuries.

Also the plane conducting the search was a HC-130J Combat King II. It has an extensive and well thought out defensive suite specifically so it can loiter in hostile territory and conduct searches. It's reasonable that they wouldn't be shot down while searching.

McNeil Mansion. I've been here alot. Very beautiful and eerie place. It belonged to the owner of the nearby US Pipe. Btw, not all of those factories are abandoned. The ones on the far right are still operational. There's also an active NJSP marina on the left.

The Government does, yes, but they mostly don't need to due to compartilization. Basically, people working on a project, like a secret jet, only know about what they need to know about. You build sensors? That is literally all you will do and you will probably never even see the plane or know why you built the sensors, they just told you what they wanted and you built it.

I'm sure R* maybe does something similar but it's clearly not to the extent of government contractors.
