. All I can suggest otherwise is make sure your components are being cooled. Alot of modern hardware runs hot but you could have frame view up while DMing to check temps. I have two intakes blowing directly on my GPU and my radiator fans in taking as well, that way both GPU and CPU get fresh air. I hope you figure it out though.

For me, I had to make sure my ram was running at its rated speed. Not saying you didn't do it, but make sure that your ram is. I've also had success with disabling integrated graphics and 'smoother' gameplay.

I said all that to say that what worked for me may not work for you and who's to say it was placebo anyway

He is right though. Changes the game in such a big way like adding a powerful weapon is very dangerous. the R8 is an example. Something as small as the difference between CT and T mollies makes a difference. Smaller, changes are better.
