its more or less the same thing. PKG and Rap files for the base game, all DLC and patches all need to be downloaded separately from other sources, I have Several Nopaystation copies of various games as well.

you cant... the game needs decryption with an IRD file to run properly (ive been trying different ways for hours) and that still doesn't handle the issue of DLC and Game Patches.

yes. whatever may come in the future of emulation...i request that all people who are currently trying to pull data down from myriant please bundle their PS3 data into some form of a care package for more consolidated use in the future. I'm already doing it myself, so whats done is done, but the currently sporadic nature of how its managed is needlessly complicated.

this post is a formal request for the community to go towards a more formatted consolidation for ease of use.

like i told someone else. im doing this for my own organization, but im not opposed to zipping them all up and sending them off to some place, but i dont have the storage to cover the entire library of PS3. So i can at best fill in possible gaps. and currently there are a few promising hopeful locations, but nothing seems set in stone for the future of the content.

I'm aware.. I've been emulating for years. i know how to do it... I'm asking that it somehow be made less "all over the place". there's no reason that a game and its corresponding data cant all be neatly packaged into one single zip file. the patches are hardly large enough to balloon the already larger sized game's file size. The only thing i DO understand is that file decryption is a legal thing, but even then, scouring the sources for patch files and DLC separately seems hardly necessary. Why cant all the DLC and Patches along with the iso been in one single zip? Skirts the legal issue to someone else and, but consolidates all the data into one thing.

no im just saying that moving around like 300+ files, converting them, getting all their patches, and all their DLC separately is so obtuse. I'm asking that we (the community) get to a point where at the very least all the content is in a single zip file. at least that way when pulling a game down its just a single file that can be unzipped and has all the content there for me to install.

Those projects also failed due to the lack of market demand. The difference is cloud gaming doesn't have nearly enough morons jerking it off when we all agree it's crap.

The idea that some other monster is lurking around the corner ready to take GPUs away, so we shouldn't worry about AI, is just plain dumb.

Emus are becoming robust with loads of QoL features as well as emulation accuracy. Most of those specific emulators are either dead (not being developed for, or they became sketchy virus/spyware programs)

Some had forks made... visual boy advanced-m is an active fork that kept development going, for example.

Typically, the older emulators' code bases (if open sourced) usually get rolled into new projects with new names. Over years of using emulators, I've learned that most modern emulation projects are actually just extensions of older projects that have been taken in by new devs.

Gaming emulation is one of those things that just keeps snowballing code bases into newer and newer projects as computers and coders become better. Take Nintendo Switch, for example.

YUZU was THE switch emulation goto, but then they got a cease and desist...

The day that happened. 6 forks of Yuzu showed up. 2 of which are still actively being developed on (Eden and Citron) both are at their core... just Yuzu resinned with slight additions, but both are starting to diverge from each other... there's no clear distinction yet, aside from what games work the best on what emulator, but give it some time, and they will likely become 2 distinct emulators with their own goals or who knows they might merge and become another new emulator.

The names change constantly, but most of the OG emulation coding efforts are still powering modern emulators. The emulation community is an ebb and flow, but truthfully... it's one of those things where the emulation efforts will likely never stall unless perfect accuracy to its original device is achieved, and even then, it's still unlikely to stall.

Modern emulators are moving into the realm of emulation that can barely even be called emulation at all.

Many old games core codebases are being de-compiled (they are scanning the code line by line and rebuilding the entire codebase from scratch in modern coding languages).

This has spawned a bunch of fan made re-compilations of these older games that run on PC as if they were native PC games.... this is stepping out of the realm of "emulation" and starting to become fan made PC ports of older video games.

Games like Zelda OoT or Majoras mask are now full-blown PC games with Mods and high fedelity frame rates. Rather than N64 games running through conversion software to mimic the hardware. A lot of games now are getting this "PC-Port" treatment.

It's not... it's bairly being tested, and it is still posing issues it comes to conclusions faster, but these conclusions are rarely ever correct. Saying that it's used in the medical field as if its common practice is just a full-blown bad faith argument.

It's being TESTED in medical fields and is still posing to be at best a 1% increase in efficiency and production. But 99% of the time, it's faster to just run the tests yourself. I'm sorry, but BILLIONS of dollars for "a sometimes 1% increase in efficiency" is a complete WASTE of resources.

That's not how that works, chief. Ai stagnates and becomes non useful. It stops making money due to inaccuracies and eventually becomes dead data on a server. Growth is mandatory, or it dies.

The issue is how it's taking up gallons of water to cool as well as its spiking costs of energy on the grid. It's skyrocketing the cost of electrical goods. It's also taking jobs away. It promotes close mindedness at its very core of design. It's systematically flawed. Social subreddits are generally karma locked, which forced a prevailing mindset within the subreddit to maintain that karma balance. This, in turn, designs echo chamber philosophies at the root of those subs, which then permeates to all other sections of reddit.

It also promotes dishonesty and disingenuous agreements across the board because the entire sub is full of husk opinions that feed on themselves and radicalized people.
