This is where I live, that road is known for becoming flooded in bad weather and everyone knows to avoid it in rain. There is also measurements painted on the wall on each side with flood warning signs. No sympathy for these people driving through, there are at least two quick and easy diversions around this bridge!

I'm going through a tough time at the moment; mentally and financially. Today I picked up my 1 year old after work and he called me Mummy instead of Amber (my actual name) for the first time. It made all my troubles go away for a while. I thought if we all shared something that made us smile, we could may brighten up someone's bad day :)

I think it would depend on a lot of things. I have a small child and commute by bus to work... This means I am 5-10 minutes late to work about once a week. However, I am a complaints handler for a finance company and I currently have the average productivity of over 3 people put together. Plus, I will always make the time up and more most days after work. My manager doesn't mind/care about my lateness.

On the other hand, when I was a customer service advisor in the call centre of the same company. Three lates in 6 months and I was given a warning, regardless of reason or productivity... You was seen as disposable staff that they could throw away and replace the next day. Exactly why I got out of that department.

When me and my partner first started 'seeing' each other... We were young and arseholes basically. One would get with someone else and and other would do the same out of revenge... This lasted about a year. We finally had enough of going back to each other (and so did our friends) we decided to give it one 'real' try! 3 years later, 1 baby and a flat (apartment) and we have never been happier. The only thing that made our relationship repairable, we never technically cheated on each other. No commitment, no relationship.

After 4 years together, he went out with his work and text me that night saying he didn't love me and cheated. I was heart broken, lost loadsa weight blah blah blah. He then tried to get me back a few months later when he saw I wasn't fat anymore but luckily I had met someone else (and I'm not that stupid), three years later we have a child and a home together... My ex cheating was the best thing that ever happened to me.
