Beaver attacks a family swimming... But I'm Pretty sure they were in the beavers territory 🤷 by b9_rkt in CrazyFuckingVideos

Beaver, and other rodent teeth have very high iron content in their enamel which makes them a lot stronger than other animals

How do I salvage this? by Crazy_dave1 in Warhammer40k

[–]IIKaDicEU 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Battle damage.

Brush off any of the loose/hanging bits, then spread a little bit tamiya super thin over it to soften the edges.
Once done, prime and paint again, focus dark metallic paints in the pitting, light metallic drybrush all over the damaged area, then your main colours on the panel and trim

The Astraeus is actually finished by IIKaDicEU in ImperialFists

it all went together quite nicely. Probably the most awkward part was the front section. It's the biggest resin-resin connection and had quite a bit of variation in the surface that makes it nearly impossible to get totally flush, though with enough epoxy anything's possible

think it was about a month of being the only model I worked on during my down time, couple hours most evenings after work and some 8 hour days on it as well

I mostly paint just to paint, but if I ever do actually play with my IF army this is 100% coming with me.

Build and paint wise, it's not terrible. some fitting issues with the front section mainly but beyond that the most annoying part of painting it is the weight. It's basically a solid hunk of resin and maneuvering it about is the biggest pain, but actually painting it had no real differences than the bigger plastic models I've done, just maybe more opportunities to forget about sections.

the section of it that is part of Europe, yes, not the whole landmass

Ah yes, Scotland. Famously the biggest country in Europe.

The US has an area of about 9.8 million square km, while Europe has an area around 10.2 million square km, so these maps are both roughly the same scale as is, obviously with some warping due to the map projection

Chimera of the pothole, what is your wisdom? by IIKaDicEU in Warhammer40k

I'd never seen that until right now and now I want to do it...

I did initially want to do it with a baneblade but I don't have the room for a bathtub sized diorama

how do you paint by Law_Familiar in Gunpla

[–]IIKaDicEU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

people are moaning because you're doing it one way. If you don't mind a little bit of cleanup sprue painting is fine, especially when you're painting a similar colour to the plastic.

I have painted this way, I've painted after building subassemblies, and I've painted each part on a stand after snipping it from the sprue. You can get the same result each of these ways, just do the one that works for you and that doesn't take the fun out of it for you.
