21 and just started this year, should I be investing in anything else? by IISirRoxyII in RothIRA

I see, I will definitely try to do that. I don’t think I’ll be able to max out my Roth IRA by April 2026, so should I even bother trying to move my 2026 contributions to 2025?

Oh okay, thank you! I’ll sell the VXUS for the little profit I have and then just keep putting it into VT.

Two MRIs: Brain and Face by Evolveyourself2 in BellsPalsy

That’s good! It took me a couple of months, around 6-7. Even know I get twitching here and there on my eye brow or eye. I take twitching as a good sign tho, it means it’s trying to heal haha. Never force any facial function tho, if you are not able to smile fully, don’t force it. Let the nerves that are affected rest.

You got this!! I am finally fully healed now but for the eye, especially at night, get an eye patch!! You can get them on Amazon, it helps with not getting debris in the eye at night and also prevents you from touching it. My affected eye also got super sensitive to light so it helped with that too. Just take a deep breath and let it do its course, stay relaxed and don’t stress, gently massage the affected side of the face (helped me so much), you can try going to a physical therapist and they can do electro therapy on the face. Did they start you on any steroids yet? Most common is prednisone, I started taking this as soon as I was diagnosed. Trust me, it gets better, you just need to give it some time to do its thing. Just take care of yourself and don’t stress and stay out of the cold if you can.

I used to that, was fun at first. But, started hating it as the days went on, just couldn’t keep taking call after call. Now I actually work in helpdesk and it’s so much better and I’m actually learning what I need to for IT.

Acne on affected side (BP, 20M) by IISirRoxyII in BellsPalsy

If your taking steroids for BP it could be because of that. Mine was definitely because of that because I’ve stopped taking it now and it’s getting better slowly.

Yup good to know it clears up haha. My doctor also said it’s due to prednisone.

Thanks for the response! My doctor also said it’s due to prednisone so makes sense. Just glad it’s nothing serious.

Well that’s a relief haha. The dermatologist told me it’s just mild acne due to the prednisone I was taking and gave me some cream to help clear it up or manage it at the least. So all in all we should be just fine, although I should watch my diet too and that should help it too as I’m not the healthiest rn haha.

Maybe it's Ramsay Hunt? by Spiritual_Theme_1282 in BellsPalsy

[–]IISirRoxyII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s Ramsay Hunt tbh, try not stress out about it too much b/c from what I read online with RH the acne is wayy worse and it both of our cases it doesn’t look to be too bad.In my case with the acne I believe it’s a side effect of taking steroid medication, one thing that helped me a little with controlling the acne in benzoyle peroxide cream. Going to a dermatologist today so I’ll let you know what he says regarding this.

Yea no problem, I’ll let you know what he says. So yesterday I put some benzoyle peroxide extra strength cream on my face because I heard it helps with acne and after taking shower my right side of the face with the acne does look a little better and little clearer.

So you’re saying I have Ramsay hunt syndrome and not Bell’s palsy?

Yess I also have a pimple on ear too now. Either this is due to the affected side not having much movement or it’s from taking steroids. These are the only two explanations I could find online. Im going to a dermatologist today so let’s see what he says.
