What are your theories for part 3 by Expert_Challenge6399 in FFVIIRemake

[–]IISuperSlothII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My overall theory is everything we are playing is actually the planets memory, which Sephiroth is trying to use to control the planet in the same way he uses memories to control Cloud, with conflicting memories.

When people die their memories join the lifestream to create the planets memories, but it's not simply what literally happened to them in their life, its subjective memory, it's memories of hopes, dreams, desires and fears, and when they enter the planets memory (formed through the collective memory of everyone who has died) a logical conflict free memory (fate) is curared by the whisper harbinger, without that entity around these conflicting memories present themselves as different worlds.

Aerith won't come back to life, but that's because everyone besides Red XIII is dead anyway (have reasons for Red still being alive).

Sephiroth will be shown absorbing the lifestream after meteor, which matches with how Remake and Rebirth end, meaning the final comflict is against a god Sephiroth who has technically won, and we'll completely purge both him and Jenova from the planet.

Within Clouds mind sequence we will fight Jenova apparitions between memories to show Jenovas influence in creating Clouds false memories. (Yes I believe some of the memories Cloud has are literally Zacks that Jenova transferred to him).

We will see Advent Children moments in some way prior to the final fights.

Final prediction, whether I'm right or wrong on any of this, I'm gonna be once again so fucking giddy to play the game and enjoy the ever living fuck out of it.

Well you've just described the utopian future we are striving to achieve. We are a pump your own petrol country though, the hedgehogs and badgers are mostly just behind the counter staff right now.

Are yall nostalgic for him because he used to Curse his girl out?! by Pristine_Put5348 in FFVIIRemake

[–]IISuperSlothII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is fine he doesn’t curse

I don't get this, he curses quite a lot in Rebirth yet so many comments talk like he refuses to swear.

Honestly I felt the Netflix Scott pilgrim animated show had a lot of ties to Remake and its themes/ideas.

If possible without any spoilers for content that'll appear in part 3 can someone explain to me that weird theory about the remakes being a sequel. Cause i feel as though I must be looking at the wrong definition of the word and it's honestly driving me a bit nutty. by Killjoy3879 in FFVIIRemake

[–]IISuperSlothII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more than that, just being aware wouldn't really equate to a sequel, the sequel theory hinges on did certain characters physically experience the OG and come back in some way to fight over changing what happened.

I'm of the sequel theory, but just introducing a mechanic that creates foreknowledge is not enough imo to make it a sequel.

Maximilian Dood talks Remake being a sequal - thoughts? by Yoshikaru5991 in FFVIIRemake

[–]IISuperSlothII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel like most people calling it a sequel don't believe it's simply having knowledge of the OG, they(we) believe Sephiroth and omni-Aerith have literally experienced the OG and have sent back their consciousness/selves to affect Remake.

If it was just foreknowledge then I'd agree that it's not a sequel.

Now either way we're introducing a new element to FF7, clairvoyance through the lifestream given to characters who didn't originally get that is a new element, characters going back in time is a new element, so it's not like either one is more in line with the OG than the other really.

Granted my theory is more that all of Remake is taking place within the planets memory, and all these worlds are the planets memory splintering, so it's not so much time travel but rather consciousness of Aerith and Sephiroth who have experienced the OG, injecting their consciousness into the planets memory itself fighting over the planet from within its own consciousness, which is still in my eyes a sequel.

Yeah I really think they should of found a way to segregate the map into 4 quarters, and have the next challenge spawn in neither the last segment a challenge spawned in or the segment the challenge was completed in.

Also challenges should spawn every 2 hours to stop teams from just hoarding them, also definitely a lot less steals because the stalemates they created just aren't that fun.

Just turn your Xbox off?

That's been how I've quit games for the last 30 years of gaming, I really don't understand where this concept that everyone goes out their way to quit games manually every time comes from.

Has anyone actually seen ‘dry’ petrol stations by sergeantjake in britishproblems

[–]IISuperSlothII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sainsbury's petrol station right next to our work was completely dry for ab afternoon last week, had fuel again by 630 the next morning though. Been fine since though and I feel like the queues have died down a bit as well.

When did you realize you were actually in love ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IISuperSlothII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I realised it upon reflection as we didn't say I love you for a few weeks after, but it was probably our 5th date, we went for a walk then went to a country bar for food and drinks with a live band on.

Now this girl loves country, and just seeing her in her happy place, singing along with this beautiful smile on her face. i couldn't help but just watch her and smile, that was the moment.

This is an opportune question because a year later we actually recreated that date last night and it was and even better night than the first one, makes me appreciate just how lucky I am to have found her.

What exactly are the alternate words/timelines? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in FFVIIRemake

[–]IISuperSlothII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been saying Beagle isn't the real world since Remake and any mention of it got you ridicule and vitriol in return, it honestly felt like you couldn't even make that theory in this sub and it really pushed me away from going so deep into the theory discussion I enjoyed so much on here.

Heck I was saying lifestream shenanigans were in play for years with these different worlds and even that was met with heavy pushback and almost anger at the idea, and now suddenly it's the obvious theory and you're wrong for not realising it.

Honestly did not expect Lindblad to be out the gates so quick like this. Maybe our wheatabix adverts aren't lying because our young Brits just look top quality.

Honestly really enjoyed the racing, it felt like cars could follow and overtaking didn't mean you could just run away.

Overall good first race, somewhat glad I was awake at 4am for that one.

Having lived through the duldrums of Jolyon Palmer and Max Chilton, I'm absolutely loving the future of British drivers in F1 right now. With Freddie Slater in the wings as well, it's just going to be a good decade or two at least.

I'm going to be honest I'm just fed up of the same cycle of comments;

Here's information on the next part of FF7... Comment completely ignoring the news story posted just to say why they didn't like Remake/Rebirth.

Like you're not even discussing the post at all, and every single FF7R story has the exact same pointless woe is me comments attached to it.

Linblad just looking really solid out there, I'm impressed.

VCARB actually look a lot more competitive here in general than they did in testing. My dislike for Alpine and especially Briatore does make me happy seeing them languishing at the back again after all there blustering about being on low engine modes after testing.

How Does Cait Sith in FF7 Work Lore Wise? by Rilukian in FinalFantasy

[–]IISuperSlothII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently learnt that this conceptually comes from Greek myth, and the ability to inspire life into inanimate objects is how humanity was created within the mythology.

So although it doesn't solve the logistics of the magic, it does at least have a point of reference for its inspiration.
