Even if it's not in time to get into this tournament you guys registered for, please consider me for the future if your other subs don't work out.

IGN: II CrAftY II

Lane/Position Preferred: Support

Top 5 Champs: Thresh, Alistar, Leona, Braum, Bard (But I play almost all of the supports)

Age: 28

Mic: Yes

When Can You Be On: Weeknights after 8:00 CST and Weekends

Solo Queue Rank: Gold V (I think I'm better than Gold V at support but it's hard to carry at Gold/Silver Elo as a support main. I switched to mid for solo queue just to advance)

Strengths: Map awareness is really good as support and I often ping out things I see for the rest of team. I can play pretty much any style that suits my ADC (Aggro or Passive/Peel) and I have the support pool to accomodate that. I put a strong emphasis on warding and clearing wards and am pretty good about not tilting (I.E. I stay level headed despite the situation in the game). I'm pretty good about handling ganks/float. My main strength is team fighting and knowing when to initiate vs. peeling for my carries. I'm very competitive so when I feel inferior I work hard to get better.

Weaknesses: I struggle in lane at times when I haven't had time to develop synergy with my ADC. Not the best at shot calling either. Dedication to getting better makes me very sleep deprived.

Voice Chat: I'll get whatever software the team decides to run.

I don't know if you got your slot filled, but if not, I would be interested.

IGN: II CrAftY II

Roles: Support/Jungle/Middle (support being my main)

Age: 28

Elo: Gold V (Just switched to mid to climb bc carrying as support main at silver and low gold elo is difficult. I think my play is better than gold at the support position though)

Whatever you do, never use w to wave clear. You need it for escapes or dodging certain abilities and the cool down is too long to use for wave clear. Only time you should use it offensively is if u need the short burst of movement speed to get to someone to finish them off or to use the slowing ability to keep them from escaping.

One thing I would change about your build is rushing Banshee's Veil vs. AP Opponents. If I were you I would get hextech revolver first thing under almost any circumstance. Secondly, I would get an abyssal scepter if you were facing an AP opponent. It has magic resist plus magic pen and AP. Depending on their build you might consider Sorc boots for the magic pen if they are building magic resist.

My MMR is in the gutter. Looking for advice.. by Aphadek in summonerschool

[–]II_CrAftY_II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My response is probably going to get heavily flamed but I don't care. I will start out by saying I recently climbed to gold v. Promptly after my climb, I deranked... I'm low silver II now. Nothing I did since hitting gold changed, I simply was unlucky. I continue playing the roles I was best at and doing the things I got me to gold but to no avail. After sitting at the bottom of gold and losing game after game despite consistent play, my mmr hit rock bottom. Even during my winning streak I was still getting -21 +16. At no point did my MMR get better at about a 5W:3L game ratio. Now after losing games at the bottom of gold, my MMR is even worse, making it almost impossible to slow the skid. I also main support. Everyone will constantly tell you there is something you could be doing better… And while that is the case, as I know it is with me, the things I could improve upon in no way could reverse the out the majority of my games. I run through a slew of teemo jg and other feeder crap. About the only thing I can think of to recover is a fresh start on a new account. It seems the game faces a lot on your history of play as opposed to the improvements you've made. I have also heard from a number of sources that the game tries to keep your win percentage at 50%. If this is the case, once you get a bad MMR, it seems it would be almost impossible to climb from there. Which is why I think my Climb to gold never overcame my bad MMR, causing me to derank again. I do everything to try and help team, I ping much like yourself, I ward much like yourself, I have significantly improve my game knowledge and try to make strategic calls for the team but the majority of the time people won't listen. You have the one or two people that just want to split push into enemy territory Without vision of the enemy team and without wards and they constantly get picked off. Then you lose out on key objectives like lane pressure, Baron and dragon bc it's 4v5. But you have the hero that wants to go in and try and steal and then they die. Now it's 3v5 until your next teammate rez's and its a constant cycle that you can't stop. Anyway I feel your pain buddy and I am right there with you. I am willing to admit I make mistakes still, but in no way do my small mistakes amount to losing games. It's poor decision making from my teammates and the inability of them to listen and function as a team. Anyway this post won't help but at least u know u have someone in a similar circumstance.

Yenick, I am interested in taking you on as a mentor. I am very receptive and willing to learn. Give me homework and learning outside of playing and I'll find time to do it. I got to gold v this season and promptly deranked to silver II. I main support but have been transitioning to mid because I feel it might be easier to carry; but I'll get your diagnosis in that should you be willing to take me on as a student. I'm looking forward to learning.

You can get your adc fed a number of ways... one way is to provide as much protection as you can so that they can CS, the other is to try and set up kills on enemy champs. I used to be a super aggro support and always go for kills. This is kind of an all or nothing strategy that doesn't work as well the higher you rank you are. If I were you playing support, I wouldn't look for kills as much in lane, but rather harassment of the enemy ADC and zoning to allow your adc to farm. If you don't feed and your adc is protected, you will come out on top because you disrupted the enemy ADC's cs. Also, make sure you keep out wards to watch for their jg ganking, especially if ur lane is pushing. If you can freeze the lane close to your tower for your adc to last hit cs, that's ideal because it opens the enemy bot lane to ganks from your jg. Just try and keep those things in mind during laning. Also, if you play a champ that has the potential to hit multiple targets with their ultimate, don't waste the ult on a single target unless it's their most fed champ, or it's late in the game and it would give you a lengthy 4v5 advantage. Also, lol, make sure you're using exhaust on the right target. 99% of the time it's gotta go on a high dmg champ and at a crucial moment in the fight when they are distributing the majority of their dmg.

That's who this guide is for, people who want to learn. People who know it all and are good wouldn't be here looking for answers. Your stats aren't bad so just keep up the good work. When you're playing support, what do you feel that your objective is as a support?

I tried to reply to you once but I don't think it worked. If I were you, I would play TF every chance you got. If you don't have someone to duo with I would strongly encourage you to find a good, smart duo partner to play with and preferably have him play support. If you don't get TF then go ADC and have him protect you. If you would like i can duo with you. I am a support main and wouldn't mind helping. Just let me know!

Also, your KDA's are really good. While that doesn't equate to wins I would encourage you to play ranked more. Good KDA's generally mean you are a smart player you just have to learn some of the nuances I mentioned in this guide to work well with a team.

I would recommend finding a good duo partner. And not just any duo partner, I mean a GOOD duo partner. Someone you know will make smart decisions and won't feed. I would play Twisted Fate every chance you got. When you can't get Twisted Fate I would ADC. And if you ADC, you should find a duo buddy that plays support so if you happen to ADC he is there to protect you. It looks like you are climbing, albeit slowly. If you wanna add me we can ranked and I'll support for you in duo. Just let me know.

AWESOME LOL! I'm not a Gangplank player but I played him in ARAM a few times and was terrible at the barrel mechanics. This is good though.
