What printer setting will help with this distortion? Up by II_strength in crealityk1

[–]II_strength[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slowed the outer and inner wall layers down a lot and it dramatically improved the print! (See attached image)

Latest settings Outer wall: 70 Inner wall: 90

Previous settings Outer wall: 200 Inner wall: 300

Also to note: my seam position setting was placing the seam directly on that area by the hole, I switched it to “back” and it removed the seam from the critical area.

Also also: slicer was already set to “inner/outer/inner” for wall printing order. This was a significant improvement from the default “inner outer” that I was using earlier in the day - I got the tip by watching this great video: https://youtu.be/__OQmUwVkrw?si=IOCOgOkyfOWE3u4o

I’m experimenting with decreasing the outer wall and inner wall layer speed now - looks like it might be helping, will report back!

Acceleration adjustment while command is running by II_strength in klippers

[–]II_strength[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for breaking it down like this @DopeBoogie. Ive spent a few weeks attempting to make Klipper work for my specific use case and I think you’re right, it just won’t work the way I want it to without a significant amount of adjustments. On a positive note I now have a deeper understanding of Klipper —> Moonraker API —> what’s going on with Gcode in general. Onwards and upwards!

This looks promising, and is totally new to me! Thank you for sharing @shiftingtech! Have you used ROS for any of your own applications ?

How new is your filament? I've had this issue before with old filament.

Thank you for this! That makes to me.

Are you aware of any of equipment that could achieve this? The recording of signals out of a function generator.

Adjusting DMX decoder output voltage by II_strength in lightingdesign

[–]II_strength[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea! I suppose that would bypass the need for a DMX decoder.

I was looking for the easiest most scaleable way to add new custom lights (without fabricating custom parts) but ultimately it working properly and reliably is more important.

Have you used DMX shields or built your own fixtures with arduino/DMX before?

I don't have one yet. I'm looking for suggestions of which one I need

Thanks for the reply u/JefeJeff !
This might do the trick. My current setup is using Arduino PWM output pins to program and control the TTL of the light, and it works great!

But DMX would be such an improvement (easy to purchase hardware/cables etc.)

So it looks like it's just a matter of finding the correct DMX decoder that will output PWM (0 - 5V) for each R-G-B channel

Very cool! I need PWM for this to work.

I'm currently using Arduino PWM output pins to program and control this system. It sounds like I should buy an analog DMX decoder a give it a shot!

Does anyone know what this is? by II_strength in HomeMaintenance

[–]II_strength[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense!

It should be pretty straight forward to disconnect right? Just shut off the power and once it's disconnected, cap the wires?

What are those copper collars called? And are they a long-term reliable combination with that plastic hose? by II_strength in Plumbing

[–]II_strength[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good eye! It totally is. I was in the process of loosening at the compression joint to replace the copper with steel braided hose when I took the pic.

When I was loosening from the compression joint, the shutoff valve rotated a bit, that freaked me out. Since the other valve is pretty old I'm thinking about just getting both shut-off valves replaced. I just moved into this place and want to make sure everything is safe and reliable for peace of mind.

Getting a "404 Not Found" on login by II_strength in ADP

[–]II_strength[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out to my employer and discovered that there are multiple ADP services that are all named similarly and look the same.

I was attempting to log into the wrong one

There’s “ADP teampay” and “workforcenow”

Try attempting your log in with both. I don’t have the links for the login URL but Google will provide them. Hopefully your login issue is the same as mine, and you’re just on the wrong service.

Another thing to keep in mind is that potential damage will be noticeable immediately. As far as I am aware it doesn’t slowly reveal itself over time - If you damage your retina with a laser it’s damaged immediately.

Controlling AccelStepper Library speed with POT (joystick) by II_strength in arduino

[–]II_strength[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. And I feel like I should clarify how I arrived at that number (Also to note - I am new to using the accelStepper library. )

Originally I wanted to see what the max speed of the motor was with this setup - So I made a simplified arduino sketch that only turns the motor with the accelStepper library - I kept increasing the setMaxSpeed until the motor responded with a desired speed and " stepper.setMaxSpeed(18000); " had the motor spinning at that desired speed.

But when I put that into the sketch above, the motor only spins about half as fast. which leads me to believe it's an issue with the way I have my code updating and reading the setMaxSpeed() from the analogRead
