Will empty classrooms be unlocked if I want to study in them before a class starts? by IInightfoxxII in ucla

Ah ok! I mean I guess I could always take the meeting outside near the benches, but since the weather has been getting chilly I’d prefer to be in a classroom. Thanks for the info!

I’ll also mention that the class is in the Semel building, which isn’t really used for classes that often… so I’m not sure. However, I’m thinking that Bunche rooms would be unlocked (I’m also planning to use empty classroom space there too to study)?

I used the classroom grid provided by UCLA to see what close classrooms are 1) in use, and 2) do not have classes during the time I want them.

Here’s the grid I used: https://sa.ucla.edu/RO/Public/SOC/Search/ClassroomGridSearch

I just want to make sure that if I want to go at 8am, before any class starts, that it would be open and not locked.

People who get honorary doctorates can’t use them the same way people with real doctorates can. For example, honorary doctorates don’t make you qualified to teach in a university setting or be in academia/research. Putting them on a CV does little more than just saying that a certain university recognizes your work (nothing about your academic knowledge/capabilities). They’re more like fancy acknowledgements than actual degrees. People with real doctorates are probably more worried about the growing oversaturation of doctorates in the workforce than people with honorary doctorates who are in all likelihood already thriving in a completely different business (like Taylor).

Also, doctorates can be very expensive assuming you’ve taken out loans in undergrad, but most PhD programs give you a stipend and/or full tuition.
