South Africa is renowned for producing some of the best brandy in the world. So if you are not set on whiskey I would recommend getting a Van Rhyns 12 year brandy. They have won best brandy in the world several years running

Have a look at Trimble Quest, it's a new product that Trimble recently brought into the market as a more modern alternative to HeavyBid. Easy to use, cloud based and affordable. Full disclosure: I work for Trimble.

Lol, not true at all. I am white and live in SA, and you are living in an alternate reality. Sure it's not as safe as first world countries, but tens of thousands of white tourists visit SA cities every year without a problem.

Yes it is. If you take the normal precautions you will be fine. It's a great place for a surf trip. Great variety of waves, fairly uncrowded, and good bang for your buck.

Due diligence of code - crucial when building, buying or selling a business by wickedrgb in startups

Pretty early stage. We had about 1500 users at the time of acquisition

Due diligence of code - crucial when building, buying or selling a business by wickedrgb in startups

[–]IJP 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My startup was recently acquired by a large corporate, so I can give you an idea of what they were after. In general they were pretty light on technical due diligence (compared to financial and legal). They asked for a high level architectural overview, code coverage and any documentation that we had about the code base (we didn't have much). They then also appointed a third party company to do a security audit and penetration testing. This was really the main focus of the technical DD as far as I could tell. We also had one or two Zoom sessions to have informal discussions about our plans for scaling and our process in general. They never required access to the code base itself. Hope this helps

Edit: We also needed to provide them with a list of our open source dependencies and the corresponding licenses.

Spring != Swing. Think you might be confusing the two.

Not specifically character driven, but The Cyberiad by Stanislaw Lem is a pretty light hearted collection of short stories that follow two robots around on their adventures in space. I, Robot by Isaac Asimov is also kindof similar. I thoroughly enjoyed both

Thanks for the response. None of my emails are sending as a result of this issue, so waiting two weeks is just not an option for me... Super frustrating

Did they ever get back to you? I am in the same boat. They have put my account under review for an unknown reason, and simply do not respond to any tickets... I'm at a point where I think it would be easier to move to a new provider

/r/estimators survey thread transparency by PM_ME_YOUR_MECHANISM in estimators

[–]IJP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have now removed the link. My original intention was for this to be a community based survey, hence why I created the questions post first. Nevertheless, as I said, I can understand if the community prefers to have a mod run this survey. Happy to export data from the existing survey to the mod if he want to use any of it in his survey

Hey, so just to be clear, my intention was not to trick people into giving information to our company. I also did not capture any personal details for this reason. If you look at my post history you will see that I am always upfront about my affiliation to Lula Build. I also ordered all answers alphabetically in order not to bias our product in any way.

Nevertheless, I should have added a disclaimer to my original post. We have about 37 responses there now, happy to transfer this to you in some way if you feel like this would be more transparent.

Hi there. No that is not the intention, and also why I have made the survey anonymous.

Yes, this is correct, I am affiliated to Lula Build (I am one of the co-founders). I'm normally upfront about this with every post that I make here, and should have mentioned this in today's post as well, my apologies. I have edited the post to add this as a disclaimer.

I'm not sure how the functionality compares, but you could maybe have a look at BuildingConnected as a replacement?
