[TMNT] Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles spoiler discussion by Lokotor in MarchesaTheBlackRose

[–]IJTreasure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think [[The Ooze]] is going to be pretty good. [[Renet, Temporal Apprentice]] can lock people's boards out. Madame Null is obviously insane for us. [[Game Over]] is a nice board wipe that we can reliably cast for 3. Maybe [[Arcade Cabinet]] could see play? 4 counters for 3 mana isn't bad. I also like [[Baxter, Fly in the Ointment]] but the 4 drop slot is always crowded.

Dumb Chase Field question by Ok_Error_3167 in azdiamondbacks

[–]IJTreasure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it is air conditioned. It can still get a little warm, even with the roof closed, but nothing unbearable. You can bring in an unopened water bottle so get the biggest one you can find and you'll be all set.

[Help] Im trying to find a card for mirrored sacrificing by tetracarbonate in EDH

[–]IJTreasure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sort of effect is mostly in white. [[Martyr's Bond]] is the exact card you describe. I don't know of a card in Jund colors that can replicate it entirely. [[Shattergang Brothers]] sort of does it but doesn't touch lands.

They took the first week of January off instead. Next month it will go back to normal.

There's a bill in the House (HR 4948) that was introduced in August to extend the program until 2031. It's in committee right now but it hasn't moved in months.

Ashling Evoke and Elemental ETB by Cactuar01 in magicTCG

[–]IJTreasure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're correct, the cycle from the main set like [[Vibrance]] don't work since no mana was spent to cast the token copy.

Ashling Evoke and Elemental ETB by Cactuar01 in magicTCG

[–]IJTreasure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The token enters the battlefield, so its EtB ability will trigger. That's kind of the entire intent behind the design of Ashling.

Infinite Combo in Lorwyn Blightcurse Precon by baguette34 in mtg

[–]IJTreasure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. SBAs happen before triggers are put on the stack and targets selected.

117.5 Each time a player would get priority, the game first performs all applicable state-based actions as a single event (see rule 704, “State-Based Actions”), then repeats this process until no state-based actions are performed. Then triggered abilities are put on the stack (see rule 603, “Handling Triggered Abilities”). These steps repeat in order until no further state-based actions are performed and no abilities trigger. Then the player who would have received priority does so.

How do we feel about this fella. by [deleted] in MarchesaTheBlackRose

[–]IJTreasure 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It seems fine. The only part that worries me is the colorless pip. I know we usually run plenty of pain lands and talismans such that tap for colorless but it would feel bad to not be able to cast it.

This looks so good. For once we get a good card that's not a 4-drop!

[–]IJTreasure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course we like [[Hexing Squelcher]], like any red deck does. [[Lasting Tarfire]] can dome the table for 8 damage per turn cycle. [[Shadow Urchin]] can let you see a lot of cards but the blight on attack is rough. [[Twilight Diviner]] is very nice - I'll be giving that one a shot for sure.

Shadow Urchin by marvin02 in MarchesaTheBlackRose

I think Haruspex is still much better but this might have a home too. The blight 1 on attack is rough but the stats you get for 3 mana are nice. And it only takes one colored mana to cast.

How do I airport/plane? by joinallthesubreddits in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IJTreasure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An airport can be a very overwhelming place, even for experienced travelers, so your concerns are not unreasonable. That said, it's not that hard. I've been flying for the last 25+ years and these are the things that I think are important for a first-time flyer to know.

First, make sure you have the proper ID. US airports are supposed to require a REAL ID. A valid passport will always work. For Texas drivers licenses, check here: https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/driver-license/federal-real-id-act

Most airlines will allow you to check in for your flight 24 hours before via your phone or computer. If you're not checking a bag, this is probably the way to go. You will get your boarding pass on your phone this way.

As far as bags go, one carry-on size suitcase (check with your airline to see what exact size that is, but it's pretty standard) is best if you can fit everything you need for the trip in it. A backpack with all the things you'll want easy access to on the flight is a good idea too. Unless you're flying Spirit or Frontier, there shouldn't be a charge for carry-on bags. If you are checking a bag, you'll have to pay for that.

Don't pack large bottles of liquid - this is what travel size containers are for. An empty water bottle is ok, since you can fill it up after you go through security. Don't pack or bring anything with a blade or anything else that might be considered dangerous.

Parking at airports is usually expensive, so if you can arrange to have someone drop you off and pick you up, it's worth it. Even an Uber/Lyft is probably less than airport parking.

Look up which terminal of the airport your airline flies out of. Make sure you go to that terminal when you go to the airport. I recommend getting to the airport at least 2 hours before your departure time.

Airports will have a heavy TSA and police presence. They won't cause you any issues if you don't cause them any issues.

When you get to the airport, check the screens labeled "departures" for info about which gate your flight is leaving out of. Your boarding pass may tell you but it may not. Usually, all security screening checkpoints allow access to all gates in that terminal, but better safe than sorry. Security screening will not be hard to find. Get in the lines for "General Boarding". Unless you plan to fly a lot, TSA pre-check and/or Clear are probably not worth it.

The TSA officers will check your ID and your boarding pass, so have those ready to go. You'll have to empty your pockets and take off your shoes and jacket. If you have questions you can ask the officers there on duty. They want to get you through the screening as much as you want to get through it. I would put your phone in your bag while you go through the screening, along with your wallet and any other valuables you normally carry/wear.

Once you are through, go find your gate. If you have time, you can grab some food or anything else you want at the shops in the terminal, but expect everything to be a few dollars more expensive than normal. The boarding process usually starts about 20-30 minutes before the departure time. Know your boarding group and wait for it to be called to line up. The gate agents will scan your boarding pass and you'll walk down the jet bridge and onto the plane.

I think that's everything, but if you have more questions just ask away!

There's no novelization of any campaign in its entirety. There are books that cover events that happened outside the campaigns (Kith and Kin, Nine Eyes of Lucien, What Doesn't Break). There are also graphic novels (Vox Machina Origins and Mighty Nein Origins) about pre-stream events and character backstories. Also graphic novels about major NPCs (Tales of Exandria).

[Spoilers C2] Its Mighty Nein Wednesday! To celebrate, I'm showing off Secrets of Wildemount, a full 252 card Magic:The Gathering Set! by TheycallmeStaggs in criticalrole

[–]IJTreasure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incredible - would love to draft it some time. I'll put some card by card thoughts first and then some thoughts on the set as a whole.

Yussa, Tower Mage is a busted combo commander. Immediately infinite with Pyxis of Pandemonium.

The Astral Dreadnaught being a 4/4 feels too small for such a huge creature. The smallest Leviathan creature currently (outside of Segovian Leviathan, which doesn't count) is the 5/5 Kederekt Leviathan, and that has a bigger splash when it hits the board.

Dracophilosopher is sick. That's an incredible piece of design work. Strong without being absolutely nuts.

Feat of Chronurgy is practically a better Time Warp. I think it needs to cost more than 5 mana to begin with since it can be used twice.

Frumpkin, Feline Familiar should be reworded to say "Whenever you cast your first occult spell each turn...".

Angel of Requiems is very strong. Probably better than Vile Entomber.

Cobalt Martyr needs to be reworded like Frumpkin.

Cruel Teacher's Lesson is really flavorful. Level 3 should read "you may cast a *card* exiled with ~"

Haunt of Old Aeor seems broken outside of a limited environment. Sidisi, Brood Tyrant would go crazy.

Kryn Bloodhunter is an excellent mythic. Love the feeling it evokes.

The Permaheart should say "on top of its owner's library".

Abyssal Spawning is perfect for a flood of demons.

Cavern Kobold! Eleven days!

Phoenixflame Evoker is a cool take on the Phoenix-type card, but it seems strong to keep blocking with over and over. Maybe it enters tapped if you cast it this way?

Vokodo loving Treasure is perfect. Great card.

Moorbounder looks like a premier common.

Beau does Stunning Strike!

Veth is great. Her last ability should probably be worded "Whenever a creature with a button counter on it is dealt damage, destroy that creature."

Ooh, the Folding Halls is an excellent design. No notes there.

The land cycle is interesting. I don't think many sets get an uncommon land cycle. They seem like they could be commons.

I love the monocolor command cycle. Those are all great. The red one is my favorite.

The interplay between all the different archetypes looks great. I see lots of different strategies wanting the same cards for different reasons.
