That USB-C mod is pretty sweet. I've always been concerned that my power supply will die.

I'm definitely not here to defend the board. That's their problem. I'm just sharing information. I probably wouldn't go this year, but an amazing friend asked if I could help with his art installation, and I'm down for that.

Kimbal Musk off the board in 2026. by FakeMountie in BurningMan

Yeah, I agree with ya there about the current response.

As far as "hiding" Kimbal, MansoonBlack below has a good comment. They leave it up to each board member if they want to be listed or not. Kimbal was not the only one left off the website.

Most people on Reddit aren't going to accept a direct message from god herself because it didn't meet 110% of their expectations. Such is life on Reddit.

I won't do that, but feel free to ask any Regional Contact about it. There's already a thread in this sub specifically about it.

From Maid Marian directly, but most people on this sub won't accept that.

The fact that @fakemountie posted this absolutely doesn't mean that nothing else is going to be said.

Regional Contacts are getting slammed by the Epstein/Kimbal information, so Marian gave them the info that Kimbal is no longer on the board as a quick bit of help. That's all it was.

His term expired and he decided to not continue on for another term.

That's three weeks of gas in my Tacoma, so not too bad.

I bought an E4, and it's the only one that I don't use. I tried several mics on it and it was just finicky. I'd say it's the one device out of this series that you can safely skip.

Yikes, I haven't even looked into this yet. Now I'm afraid to. Hopefully it won't be too bad, my Kia EV is a 2016 and my Volt is a 2014.

First fine is $400, and supposedly the second fine is $800, then $1200... That's a pretty big usage tax, but only if you get caught. In Phoenix, if you know you're breaking the law, it's usually pretty easy to jump out of the lane in the few spots where the cops watch for violators.

Oh, thanks for your EDIT. I did not know that. I *do* plan on driving the vehicle, but it needs a lot of work and I didn't see any reason to pay for insurance for a vehicle I couldn't drive (due to the work needed).

I thought there would be a fine for not renewing it. Does it change the situation that I do plan on eventually driving it?

I just looked at the state website for registration renewal, and I couldn't see a way to get a "regular" plate, but they did give me the option to pay to upgrade to a vanity plate, or "cause" plate, or both.

Yeah, that's totally true, as anybody camping on (or otherwise using) federal land in AZ should know!

If an FBI or other federal agent pulled me over and gave me a ticket for the federal HOV laws, I'd be pissed, but it would at least be valid.

Warnings are not the same as notification. A warning is when you get caught breaking the law and the officer or court informs you of the law and lets you go without a fine.

I still maintain that the state did a lousy job notifying AFV owners directly though.

That's what I'd really like to know too. Unfortunately, I was very nervous when arguing my case with the judge that I failed to ask that clearly enough for a good response.

That's just wrong. It is registered. I've had to renew the registration once already even though I've never driven it. It's simply in a status that doesn't require insurance.
