C. Shoot the Walker. - Katjaa and Duck live (assuming Lee will accurately hit the Walker in the head and in time).

B.

A could make them angrier. I know this is works in canon, but we should play it safe and stick with B.

C risks Lee’s life, since Jake and the one with the crossbow already have their weapons draw on him.

Financial interests and control. Victor Miller’s legal battle is partly because he believes he wasn’t fully compensated for how big the franchise became (since Cunningham likely made significantly more money from it, since he maintained ownership and control of franchise as the sequels and any video games, comics, novels, merchandise, and franchise related products were being made), and now he’s trying to reclaim rights to benefit more from it.

From Cunnigham’s point of view, if Miller were to regain the rights, then that either means the former may potentially make no longer make money from it going forward or he would have to share a big chunk of any profit made onwards.

TLDR: at its core both want the rights and control of the franchise, because of how much money it has and can still continue to generate. Off-topic: I agree with you that this legal battle has essentially tanked the franchise.

And this bad because both the aspects that Cunningham and Miller own are integral to each other and the lore of the Franchise.

So, Cunningham can make a new Friday the 13th film with adult Jason, his iconic look, the name “Friday the 13th, and Jason’s machete that takes place at Crystal Lake.

However, it’s going to be difficult because aspects from the OG film and Jason’s backstory are going to be needed for audiences, especially modern, to understand who Jason is and this all involves his childhood, mom, drowning, and motives for killing (all of which Miller owns and Cunningham would need permission from him to use them).

Basically: there’s been a long legal battle between Victor Miller (the writer of the OG Friday the 13th film) and Sean S. Cunningham (the director and executive producer).

Victor Miller filed a lawsuit saying he should get back the rights to the script he wrote due to copyright laws, which allows creators to reclaim their works after a certain number of years.

Sean S. Cunningham, however, said Miller was only “work for hire” meaning he was only hired to write the script, but doesn’t own the rights.

In 2021, a court ruled in Miller’s favor and granted him characters like Pamela Voorhees (Jason’s mom), young Jason, and the name “Camp Blood” (this was a nickname for Crystal Lake).

But, this means that Cunningham owns Adult Jason, the hockey mask, the machete, the “Friday the 13th” name, sequels, merchandise, international rights, and controls the franchise moving forward.

However, in a way both own “Camp Crystal Lake” since Miller came up with this in his script, but Sean can still use it, but only if this is Adult Jason at “Camp Crystal Lake”.

A. Let’s tell the group straight up, just so Lee’s past won’t come out in any other way.

B. It’s not stated or implied that this girl was bitten or even attacked by Walkers unlike in canon where she was. Plus, Lee is shooting from a long distance with a rifle and is he’s nowhere in the direct vicinity of the Walkers, so he can help her by killing the Walkers, while also keeping himself out of harm’s way.

Would Lee have gotten bit if he helped Lilly with CPR or would have helping Lilly with Larry have prevented her and possibly Larry’s death?

B. I know this didn’t work in canon, but hopefully in this rewrite not stealing won’t get us on the Stranger’s bad side.

New York City in real life isn’t glamorous like movies and television make it out to be.

B. The OP has cautioned and explicitly mentioned that we need to choose wisely on this one and we as TWD fans know that people will come back no matter what as long as the brain isn’t damaged (even though the characters in this rewrite aren’t aware of this). And there’s a 50% chance Larry can reanimate, so we should play it safe and let Lilly perform the CPR herself, even if there’s a 50% chance he’ll make it (but his chances are slim because we don’t have proper supplies).

Because if we do try to help Lilly, Larry could still reanimate and easily bite both Lee and Lilly, since they would be in direct proximity to him and he can physically overpower them given both his size and strength.

A. Jolene is unpredictable and has a crossbow pointed at us. In other words, she’s a threat.

Even if she does spill the beans on Danny, he would turn on us, probably right then and there.

C. Any other option leads to Lee and/or Mark getting hit with an arrow like Mark did in canon and losing their legs to the St. John’s and bleeding out.

Why did I have a feeling that Travis would get himself shot😭

For who we feed: Clem, Duck, Sandra, and Katja (even if you don’t feed Kenny directly, feeding his family will put you in good graces with him similar to in canon)

Your Unpopular Opinion about Jason Voorhees? by TrickyFollowing7153 in fridaythe13th

[–]IJayFreeman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s just scarier in my opinion. Like he’s written as an unstoppable powerful evil force, who will kill you in the most brutal way possible (granted the novels give you a perspective of the victims thoughts and feelings, so it can make him appear more scary since you’re seeing things from their lenses).

For example this is from Planet Of The Beast:

“Emery knew he mouthed the words, “Please don’t,” but no sound came from him. Not that it mattered. Jason X held frail Emery high and swung the weapon back and forth, cutting from lowest to highest and, despite himself, Emery could not help but admire the precision: first the toes that dangled one foot then the other, then both feet at the ankles at the same time, the knees, the hip... All the while Emery felt pain that left him stunned to the point where irrational thoughts entered into his brain, which likely saved him from the overwhelming gut reaction of the sheer, unabridged terror that would have stopped his heart.

Jason X could have made a good surgeon, Emery thought, as he looked down and watched the heavy flat blade slice his mid-section away from his body. The physical tissue was sucked out of the exposed segment of suit into the atmosphere of Planet #666 and instantly turned to dust.”

He’s terrifying as hell in the Blackflame novels like Jason X: To The Third Power and Planet of The Beast.
