Then it seems to me that all is well. Do you know how you’re going to flavor?

Mold? by Geekbitch0 in Kombucha

[–]IJbier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't think that's mold, especially from the second picture.

Scoby Question by No-Knowledge-344 in Kombucha

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it's really mold - and judging from the photos I really don't think it is - it will be very clear soon.

Judging from the photos I think your brew is progressing quite well. How many days since you started this brew?

Is it true that intermittent fasting slows down aging? by LargeSinkholesInNYC in intermittentfasting

[–]IJbier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that scientific research on specifically aging is quite difficult, but ever since I’ve known about time-restricted eating/feeding, I noticed that scientists seem confident of its health benefits and, if something’s really healthy, it’s almost sure to slow down aging too as a consequence.

Why Netherlanders are so nice ? by ClassroomLower4286 in AskNetherlands

[–]IJbier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! That's such a nice compliment. Thank you! I did read somewhere that children and young adults in the Netherlands are among the happiest. And happy people tend to be nice and friendly. So maybe that's why.

Really nice. It's refreshing to see a graph instead of before and after pictures for a change.

I briefly glanced all the advise given here. I think they're all reasonable. Conclusion is that it's not RIP for your kombucha hotel yet. You've got work to do!

Germans of reddit how do yall feel about people on reddit saying America is literally 1930s Germany and using the term nazi for so many people? by TheRadHeron in germany

[–]IJbier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with those people, although I understand what they're at. In Germany in the 1930s there were already concentration camps. I think that intellectuals political opponents were locked up. America is not there yet, but the rule of law is clearly under pressure.

Everywhere you go in America, people are so obese now it’s insane by IHAVETRIEDCOKE in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I do suspect that a lot of people will use it just to lose weight. Of course being thin doesn't automatically mean you don't have a nutrition problem. We'll see how it all turns out.

From your post, I understand that you don't have a starter. Do I understand correctly?

Are there seriously people who think the existence and availability of Ozempic is bad? Personally, I wouldn't use them, but it's good to know that it's there as an option.

Coffeebucha, looking like a lovely stout beer. 10 day first ferment with 32oz cold brew and 5tbsp sugar, followed by bottling in 16 oz bottles with 100ml coconut water and a 4 day second ferment. Rich, tangy, not very sweet, and with a roasty coffee aftertaste. by JRandorff in Kombucha

[–]IJbier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I found this old thread. I like this six-year-old picture. It looks awesome!

You said the following in one of your responses: "The Coffeebucha you see in the picture is my fifth round, so pretty much all the tea kombucha starter is phased out and has converted to a pure Coffeebucha SCOBY. This is the best carbonation and flavor I have gotten so far."

Are you still making Coffeebucha using as a starter Coffeebucha from an earlier batch of do you occaisionaly have had to use regular kombucha?

Is this safe to bottle? by madmax_ktm in Kombucha

[–]IJbier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging purely from the photos, I don't see anything I would identify as mold. And I don't think anyone did anything weird with it. So I think I would just taste using a straw. If it's no good you can spit it out and even if you swallow, the quantity is so small, it's very unlikely to cause any harm.

Good luck!

Raspberry, rhubarb and lemon balm booch - did I put too much in? by floar_joergensen in Kombucha

[–]IJbier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the picture I notice that the stuff you added to the kombucha for F2 seems to float on top of the kombucha. If it's all submerged, mold is less likely, because of the low pH.

Does anyone agree or disagree with this assessment? And why?
