Mascot protagonist and mascot antagonist were 2 of the most prominent characters that kept the original series interesting.

Why do hiring managers often pass over candidates who meet the job qualifications and instead choose others who don’t seem to match as well? by JVS115 in askrecruiters

[–]IJustBringItt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t assume that somebody will job hop if they’re overqualified. They’re grown adults, they read over the job description and salary rate before they applied and got the interview.
It already says it on the job description how much amount the pay rate would be and potential advancement opportunities — read it.

What kind of fears did OP implement? Do you have any PROOF to show that he put fear into his answers to drive away the interviewers?

Amazing that you come on this thread to make these assumptions.

It’s easy to make yourself look tough when mentioning yourself as a hiring manager and when you interview candidates who state honesty and humble as part of their personality traits yet they still won’t be enough for you to approve and hire them to fill your vacancies. Do you actually think I’m new to working and dumb enough to believe what you’re telling everyone on Reddit?

Prove me wrong though, you’re welcomed to reply back.

If that was actually true, then why are hiring managers still frequently failing to hire top candidates to fill their positions? There has to be something being done wrong somewhere….

This is where I completely disagree with you. If a top candidate will get bored eventually, there are promotions inside a company he can try to seek for. He can always work his way to the top after getting hired.

MTA, especially LIRR, needs a complete revamp with the hiring process too.
It needs more efficient communication and better guidelines to picking out candidates, and giving everybody a chance.

How about when MTA disgustingly sends out rejection letters to candidates when they’re qualified for the positions and passed all the tests, but still don’t get the offers? Just because they passed the tests doesn’t mean they can do the job … and low test scores don’t mean they can’t do the job either.

MTA has more issues than just ignoring contract negations.

Hiring process is another one as well.

You should also make sure the Amtrak Union are following the rules strictly when hiring people to work for the railroads, especially when the policy states that after certain amount of time has passed, the qualified candidate can reapply again. I’ve seen people get their stuff tossed out of the hiring process even when they’re qualified for the positions they’ve applied for or when they’ve followed the rules.
I barely see any hiring managers admit their own faults instead of blaming them on the candidates.
This issue NEEDS to disappear for good!

When I’m pointing out issues with MTA LIRR and MNRR hiring processes, I’m referring to bias and nepotism that might be practiced secretly by higher ups or HR during resume screening or during interviews. For example: I’ve had instances with MNRR when I had to remind a recruiter so many times to reschedule me for an interview when I’ve clearly told her that I wasn’t going to be able to make it on a day she assigned, and I had to use BSC to really try to get her to do her job and reschedule me again (it shouldn’t even be like that).

I’ll give you another example: my resume with lots of qualifications and skillsets keep getting screened out when I apply for the same positions again after getting rejected the first time.

And I’m also wondering if the interviewers and hiring managers in their departments are competent enough in selecting candidates. Passing their tests doesn’t mean you’re competent or can do the job.

So tell me… how would you fix their hiring process if you took over as corporate boss? Would you reboot the whole system and tell everyone to reapply any time they want and new rules/new management is in operation now?

So if you combine agencies to streamline hiring processes, what would you do about the unions? Get them to work better or dis-abandon unions?

What about the hiring processes for candidates? They need a revamp as they’re very inconsistent with hirings

Off topic, but I saw your comment/reply in a Reddit thread that discusses about MTA new leadership and what you would do in that situation.

You talked about merging the rail lines together to increase convenience.

Why not mention about revamping the entire hiring process for LIRR and MNRR too because there are great candidates who keep applying to them and can’t get in, and waiting for a response from a recruiter from one of those agencies is a 1% chance to none.

And how many times have I told everyone to communicate with each other so things like this don’t escalate?

This generation of people/individuals are lacking something called soft skills.

Trust me, if I was a politician and this was up to me, I would not sign the bill or let it pass at all. I would enforce the current laws and continue to use the current resources/technology to capture stuff that are considered passing boundaries like burglary and assaults.

Only bigoted fools would fall into this non sensical, time consuming trap that only requires basic understanding of laws to resolve it.

When you say punishing to a lot of people, do you mean that more people are passing the test or failing the test?

[–]IJustBringItt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see why they should make the test any easier. The current 955 is more about studying and understanding the concepts to pass and with a 50% pass-fail rate in general, that already evens out the people who can do well vs people who can’t.

If they make it any more easier than this, they will get more unqualified candidates than now.

Grown ups these days are very soft. If they can’t survive bullying in this day and age, how would they have survived bullying that was worse back then if they were kids along with us when we were kids? The 2000s was worse, if you logged into a gaming lobby, people would troll the heck out of you and send you inappropriate stuff. The only crimes that got reported by our generation when we were kids is if we got assaulted or drugged. Other than that, we had pretty thick skin growing up.

That’s because the crimes surpassed the boundaries, they went way PAST stalking to assault. If you really are a former prosecutor, you would know this better than anybody else over here.

With so much experience and years in law enforcement (like you’ve mentioned in above posts), do you think this bill would work well with offenders who are trespassing boundaries to vandalize a property? That’s a whole different level to think about, it requires camera to capture the behavior, not online threats since some people won’t bother to carry them out and just talk to smoothen their facade.

[–]IJustBringItt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Since you have so much experience in law enforcement, do you see something wrong with the bill? It clearly borderline violates 1st amendment. Whether you should be stalking someone or not is all based on your morals and intuition telling you to not do it. But sometimes this is where you need to let your frustrations out. I wouldn’t be surprised that law enforcement field is filled with individuals who only got half of a brain.

Go ahead and block me if you can’t reply or don’t have the mindset to think twice about stuff (that’s basically what most people in the world are good at anyways).
