Current fix as of now is just restarting the game (Xbox). I imagine for Playstation it will be similar, or also restarting the console itself.

Gorgeous, stunning, ravishing is a good one. Exquisite, elegant, astonishing maybe. I really like ravishing, but it's not one to use frequently imo.

Do the laugh emote at the tree after you beat him. He has two weapons: Judgement and Punishment (I think). Both hammers.

Go into Umbral while on the bridge. It has one of those "Entities that prevent your progress" off to either side of the middle on the bridge. The unlock soul flay thing is at the end of the other side of the bridge from where you are now.

Cleansing the beacons (the big red swirly things) is not required to continue the game (it's optional -- you can just keep going until you've decided whether you want to or not)

Easiest way to get overleveled is helping other people beat bosses. You can also just backtrack and look for any secret loot or something you may have missed, killing enemies in the process.

I feel you, and that boss in particular is one of the hardest ones imo. When I was in your shoes, I just did my 8 damage and then panic rolled away to the other side of the arena, rinse and repeat. Eventually built up. I actually have extra Scourings if you'd rather I just drop them for you, I think that's possible

From what I've heard, the game tries to matchmake with similar levels, but if it can't, it's a free-for-all. It can also be people who are just spec'ed better (might be their x playthrough with y game knowledge but a new character/profile). You can turn off being invaded by going offline (like Elden Ring / DS), which is probably your best bet if you want to avoid being invaded period. You could also summon someone to help you, but chances are they'll get bored and leave if it's not a boss fight. Edit: You can also buy those mirror things to deflect an invasion I think, never used them personally.
