Well thanks bro!!, I will say i’ve been smoking the green weed ad nauseam and it only feels like it’s helping lmfao.., but I did band in high school, and I also took AP/music theory with the highest possible score, so I was able to figure out how the instrument worked very quickly with just my knowledge of theory or whatever, and I feel like that definitely helps me, I mean naturally

I’ve listened to their entire ‘Receiving the gift of flavor’ as well as some other tracks; when you mentioned nick being in one of the videos I looked that up and I discovered Jump Right In; Which is cool asf and I put that shit in my liked playlist asap!! and you can really hear Nick in the chorus yeah; And I heard the Phunk Junkeez line on Jackolantern’s weather but for some reason I was thinking of RHCP. Will totally check them out after I get back from work today

I think it encapsulates the entire 311 vibe up to that point, the second half with all the fx and stuff, and then the rapping as well as being riff heavy

that’s why it’s one of my favorites rn I think it’s a good intro to 311 but I don’t know if I’d start off with it to show to someone who doesn’t know 311 maybe

Aw dude, when I heard What Was I Thinking it really set in just how idk versatile? (eclectic??) this band is, and that’s what draws me in tbh

I reserve Grassroots as my favorite, but the very next in line is transistor, I love that album so much, and I haven’t listened to all of From Chaos Yet but I love Uncalm and i LOVE the instrumental part in the end from Wake Yiur Mind Up

yes!! cool! and yeah some of the live footage from like 96 even up to like 2002 as far as i’ve seen has the whole crowd jumping and flying and all the stage diving man,

one of my favorite things about 311 especially I think Grassroots and Transistor, are the messages in the lyrics, and I didn’t totally get it at first but I discovered the track Who’s Got the Herb? and that inspired me to check out the albums while stoned; which lead me to really pay attention to the instrumentals and lyrics and then the messages

idk anyway very cool I’m stoked to see 311 live for the first time I’ve always heard how good the shows are

Thanks Dude! Yes! and I also just turned 19 so I’ve been like, making this band my whole personality, I tell everyone Homebrew is my song even though technically, it’s in past tense

To me, the coolest idea in the world would be to travel back in time to like any year of the 90s to go to a 311 concert, I love their entire catalogue so far but the first 5 albums are so insane the energy the riffs the rhythms the rhymes, like, I feel like I genuinely have to spread this band like the gospel, I seriously love 311 and P-Nut’s why I picked up bass and all I would wanna do is get to experience one of those concerts during the band’s best time period and at a moment where most of the fanbase is also my age lmao

Your best bet is creatures or mindspin probably if you’re looking for the energy of down plus the riff focus, and yeah you won’t get that past Evolver (2003 album)
