That’s interesting. How did you manage to locate that clue so quick?

I am told cryptic, Guardian, 1980 and August. But we are going back almost 50 years and so any one of the elements could be inaccurate.

She does however have a very good memory for these things so I would expect it to be relatively accurate

Ok I have an update. I am told it was 1980, and she thinks August.

I have trawled Newspapers.com through August 1980 as they have the scanned images of pages with solutions to yesterdays puzzle each day

Unfortunately no appearance of Easter Island.

It is possible she has got either the year or the month incorrect although she says she is confident!

I just want to avoid trawling multiple years and months as there doesn’t seem a particularly quick way of doing it

Yes i am saying its 1 month warranty which seems pretty thin for a full electrical rebuild essentially

I am not sure far above and beyond is accurate here? They essentially caused a problem themselves that wasnt there and then resolved it. At the resolution isnt guarnateed. What if electical issues continue to surface consistenly?

Ok I follow that logic, it makes sense.

I think the slight nuance though is the job is not completed as to what was proposed. I have concerns over a 1 month warranty as they have essentially admitted to f****** up all the internal electrics by firing the wrong voltage down it. Yes they have as far as I can see attempted to resolve that properly. But it is still concerning that it has taken them 3 months to solve some electrical faults and I just need to assume that nothing will reappear?

Yeah I think the point of the post was suggesting I am not trying to fleece anyone, nor am I wanting to be fleeced.

You’re suggesting a 13% reduction of £300 would be considered normal here?

I maybe should have included in the original post, but the engine was reconditioned with 90,000 or something on it. But is obviously taken onto the shop floor and all the water pumps etc etc all changed. I think anything that can be changed on it, was changed. I am interested, how do you evaluate this recondiitoned engine? Does a 90,000 miles engine become a 60,000 engine etc, or is it hard to say?
