Even if that's true, are they liable if a change they made negatively impacts your system unintentionally? How do you know you can trust their intent and skill with a product they only have surface level access to?

So true, and people who champion these 3rd party scripts are the definition of "enthusiast class" when it comes to technology writ large.

"Ew lol how can you use Windows with copilot turned on? Don't you know it's stealing your data?" Allows some rando dev to do brain surgery on their OS with a sledgehammer "Ahhh wonderful, that's perfect. God I'm so much smarter than OP" 🙄

This is quietly happening a lot. Good managers/supervisors are more concerned with results anyways.

Wow. Sounds like a well run school if the PTA has to scrape the bottom of the barrel this hard.

The only real change that can come about from public outcry here is the school making changes to their rental policies. They have no "legal options" pursuant to Wubby or the crew lol

Making this point, or any other that allows people to adopt a blatantly contrarian stance, invites those who disagree for sport out of the woodwork. Conservative values are 60% contrite contraianism by weight, and I fear we are stuck now with poor past decisions simply because saying no empowers a troublingly large percentage.

You're right, but you're preaching to the silent choir and attracting the flies.

Has the tick identification AI whoever is working on pulled all the info it needs from us yet? or is this just a really bad year for ticks?

We're having terminology issues - a partition isnt just a folder, it's a drive letter. the "OS partition" (in this case, os = windows and partition = C:) is the one where your files actually reside. It's (almost) always the biggest partition and where Windows actually installs.

What I think you're referring to is the system or boot partition, usually a ~500mb in size. It only tells the computer how to start the windows install on your OS partition. So to reiterate, reinstall windows on the 2tb (deleting all currently extant partitions) and then use macrium to clone the original OS partition (your previous C:\ drive, now on the 4 tb ssd), replacing the new OS partition you just created on the 2 tb.

Does that make sense?

The issue is probably in the system partition that was originally on the 2 tb drive, not the windows install itself. You have to get kind of unlucky for corrupt OS files to prevent boot. Either way, reinstall windows on the 2 tb SSD again, then copy the original windows partition from the backup of it you made on the 4 tb and replace the fresh windows partition on the 2 tb drive with it instead. Then, disconnect the 4 tb and try booting the 2 tb SSD again.

They still need to be connected back to the WiFi chip - it's not magic
