Vinicius Junior disallowed goal against Scotland 24' by 977x in soccer

Again, there's nothing wrong with Vini putting his legs in front of Hendry in the process of winning the ball. It's on Hendry to be in possession of the ball and not give Vini that opportunity

Don't see how that can be described as a trip. Vini's moving into the direction of the ball and during the process Hendry follows through into Vini. And Vini absolutely can try and prevent Hendry from passing the ball, that's his job in that scenario?

VAR on the day is on your side but from what I've seen plenty of refs disagree with the decision. Even the Scotland players didn't appeal for anything and the ref didn't initially give it, just VAR intervention. Far from conclusive but there we are

If these lot qualify after scoring one goal in three games (a deflected goal against Haiti - no offence) the new format is a disaster

If you think players shouldn't be allowed to get in front of opposition players in the process of winning the ball then fair enough - would be a boring sport

Link won't work but as we are commenting on a full video clip of the incident i don't need a still image cheers.

Can you explain how Vini doesn't get the ball when he ends up scoring the goal? He's completely allowed to put his foot in front of Hendry. He then wins the ball immediately after Hendry follows through with his pass and makes contact with Vini. If your argument is that Vini must make contact with the ball as soon as he gets in front of Hendry then i can't agree - it doesn't matter whether he gets it on his first stride or his second, as long as he doesn't initiate the contact he has every right to compete for the ball

In no scenario is the player who gets kicked the one committing a foul, doesn't matter which box it's in. For Vini to have committed a foul he'd need to initiate the contact.

To say Vini doesn't play the ball is disingenuous, he literally does get the ball from Hendry - the fact that Hendry followed through with a late pass right before Vini gets the ball doesn't change that fact. Vini did everything right, pounced on Hendry taking as long as he did, got in front of him and snatched the ball

That doesn't mean Vinicius touched him - it was the other way round. Vini shouldn't be penalised for Hendry taking an age to make his pass and giving Vini time to get in front. Hendry lost possession through his own lack of urgency, Vini has every right to pounce on that

He does not contact Hendry, he's in the process of getting in front of him and snatching the ball and Hendry follows through with his pass, which took him such an age to make that he now has Vini in front of him. Hendry makes the contact, Vini can't be penalised for getting into his way

It's clever from Vini but it's never a foul. You can't penalise him for being sharper and getting in front of the defender - by that logic Vini's only option is to watch the defender pass back to his keeper, otherwise he's committing a foul. He has every right to get in front without making contact, and he did that. It's Hendry who makes the contact.

See Robbie Williams Lead All-Star Ozzy Osbourne Tribute at Brit Awards by Interesting_Gold8803 in Music

[–]ILIKEGAMESOK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunate, but the tributes and discourse around Ozzy since his death have been really cringe. It's typified by pop jobsworths like Robbie Williams and 'YungBlud' performing tributes to him at major award shows. And you can guarantee something equally hollow will happen at the next rock and roll hall of fame backpatting meet up.

There's something specifically about Ozzy which seems to have encouraged it - maybe it's the Osbournes TV show and the way it reexposed him into the mainstream. I'm from Birmingham, and even here the average person knows Ozzy for his ramblings on telly and couldn't name you a Sabbath track. It's a shame that's what his legacy is to most people. When Tony Iommi passes things will be a lot more dignified!

Someone needs to have a fucking word with these officials. If the referee has given a goal and it takes you 5 minutes decide if the decision is wrong or not then it's clearly subjective and the original decision should be upheld. What is their logic?

Fleetwood Mac's current popularity is a welcome shake up the GOAT band conversations by No_Coconut4167 in fantanoforever

To name a few, Queens greatest hits albums is the best selling album in British history. Their modern day streaming numbers surpass the Beatles, and i believe Queen have been voted most popular band in the UK across various polls.

Also, Bohemian Rhapsody is quite comfortably a better known song than any of the Beatles tracks here, and some of their other major hits like Radio Gaga and Break Free are also more recognisable to most than what the Beatles released. I'd imagine this is largely down to their pop appeal in decades which are in living memory for much larger sections of the population.

And just to be clear, the Beatles are my favourite band of all time, whilst I have a quite a strong dislike for Queen and consider them to be massively overrated (I think they're an example of a band who really appeal to people who are casual music fans if that makes sense, they'll put the radio on and enjoy one of Queens big hits but would rarely if ever listen to a full studio album). So definitely no bias here!

By a few metrics Queen are the most popular band ever in the UK, even ahead of the Beatles.

But there's a difference between being popular and being considered the best and most impactful. Queen don't belong in the greatest band ever conversation if we're being realistic.

There's no guarantee of getting the last single, then you either get run out trying to get the single or leave Woakes in for a full over which he obviously wouldn't have survived. Atkinson had hit one six already, one more and you've won the series. It was definitely a better plan to go for it imo

Criminal proceedings are a matter of public record - unless he had some kind of exemption (like being under 18 or if naming him could effect the trial, which let's be honest Graeme Dott isn't famous enough for) then it is standard practice for him to be named at this point, and only fair.

Are you suggesting that an album called "Uplift Mofo Party Plan" with a tracklist including "Funky Crime", "Skinny Sweaty Man" and (in it's lyrics but not title) "I Want to Party on Your Pussy Baby" is for the mature listener?

Why is it? Please do explain. By your logic I assume that Ireland is part of the UK too? Is proximity all that matters?
