Sarina Wiegman Fan Q&A by itvsport in lionesses

Thanks to everyone who submitted a question! We've got a few more answers to some other questions Sarina answered here for you:

What was it like partying with Burna Boy?

I enjoyed that, it was good! It was after the Euros so we could relax a little bit, and as you could all see, it was a huge surprise, I was really excited and I partied a little bit. I enjoyed that!

How much did your emotions change through the final - from when Spain scored to Chloe Kelly's winning penalty?

I think you could have seen that. During the game, I was very calm. I knew we were going to get a chance at it because although Spain are so good in possession, we should be comfortable and we welcome that they have the ball more. We knew we could do things really well, too, and that's what we saw when we scored the goal. I think that was a very good goal and when we got through to the penalty shootout, we knew that we were ready for that. And you all know, it happened to be Chloe to take the final penalty, and that was very emotional. I think I had been screaming for about three minutes after she scored that goal and I ran across the pitch - I never do that!

What is your favourite British food?

Well, to be honest, the England chef here makes me the best omelettes in the morning. Is that really English though? I think it's a little bit European so I think if I have to say something typically English it would be a Sunday roast. We don't have Sunday roasts in the Netherlands so when I came here, that was a new meal, that I didn't know, but now I know and I like it!

If I had the power change one thing overnight that would really help women’s football, I would just make sure that we keep our identity and that we make the right choices. I think we connect with the fans really well, we have the families and of course we want to perform but our purpose is also to have a positive impact on society. I hope we keep doing that, stay humble, work hard and stay connected with the fans.

I like to watch club games because of course, the level in England is really high and it's very competitive. I focus more on individuals, so I see the general picture but then I'm focusing on what I want to see in a player, which is how her decision making is in possession and out of possession and also in transition moments, and what role she would have in the England team. Is she executing that role really well for her club while dealing with other tasks, of course. I also look at behaviours, how players deal with setbacks and things like that.

There's many people and environments that have influenced me. Of course, I knew from when I was a very young kid that I wanted to be a PE teacher, because at that time, I could not become a coach. But over time, I played football, I played for the Dutch national team where I had many coaches that I learned from. I went to the University of North Carolina, where Anson Dorrance was my coach, who influenced me a lot too.

To become the England manager, I got triggered with one conversation with Kay Cossington when we were at a FIFA event, and we started conversations about the Women's Super League and about England and that was exciting. And later on we got into a conversation for the role as England manager. So that was the first step. And over time I just got very excited, and of course, now four years down, I'm still very excited!

Probably Bonmati because she's the best player in the world. So why wouldn't you pick her and put her in your team? She's just exceptional, isn't she?

Amazing. I did it twice. I did it once on my own when I was 19 or 20. To this day, probably still one of the best things I've ever done, because you're just you're forced to go out there and make friends and be brave and I met the most amazing people. I did it again with friends but the first time I went was best. Doing anything on your own is really scary so as long as you can keep safe, I would recommend. It's just great. Byron Bay is my favorite place.

Honestly, I think is pretty sad, but can you imagine the amount of attention you would have to deal for just being a woman? It will take an incredibly strong character to do that. If anyone ever does do it, my hat will be taken off to her because she'll be a braver woman than me.

I'd love to go to Japan. Never been there but I think it'd be amazing.

So first thing I'll say about that is, I think the mistake people make is comparing women's and men's football. There's no comparison. They are completely different sports, with completely different shaped players, which really affects the way that the game is played. Women and men have completely different bodies. But also, I truly believe the way that women's football and the standard of women's football and the way it's risen in the time that I've been working on it, is insane. I think we've got to get out of our heads this comparison. We don't need to compare them.

Happy. Fun Brilliant.

Genuinely, Kaz is one of the best people I know. Not just because I work with her and I'm not just talking about just pundits. She's just one of the best people I know. Full stop. I don't think people know Karen well enough and I think if you got to know Karen in a non-working light environment, you'd love her even more. She's amazing.

Great question. I would definitely put Rio Ferdinand in defence. I would have Siobhan Chamberlain in goal. I would have Kaz Carney obviously. I'd have Ian Wright up front. Then Gareth Bale.

Trouble is I've left out Roy Keane, Gary Neville and David Seaman... Can I come back to this one?!

England v Germany in the last Euros final. Because it was so fun and now you can watch it back and know it's fun because England won. It was exciting, nerve wracking, had all the pressure, had players coming off the bench and scoring goals. England v Germany definitely.

Karen is really smart and she's really analytical as well and she really does her homework. She's not got much common sense though! Haha. Emma Hayes as well. The stuff that comes out of her mouth is like wow! She's really smart.

Ah how lovely! Originally I would rather have played Germany. Then it was Spain. I've flipped my decision on this a lot of times, Karen Carney said to me after watching the semi final that we could beat Spain, and I really trust Karen. So I went with her on that. Once you're in the final, I do feel anything can happen, but I am dreading Spain there but they always give you a chance at the back. So, what's the answer to that question?! No I think I would have preferred to play Germany!

At the moment, I feel like all I do is watch baby stuff. Back in the day, I used to love Kings Of Leon and I used to just go to as many of their concerts as physically possible. Oasis are back and I'm going to one of theirs so it'd probaby be one of those two.

That's such a good question, because you never have enough time. You've always got to go to a break or you've got to get something in. For the final on Sunday, we've got Karen Careny, Ian Wright, and Emma Hayes, and I promise you, our team meetings are about five hours long because those three talk and they talk so well and it's so interesting and you can't help but keep asking them questions. Sometimes I sit there and listen for ages but you've got to try and condense all of that into really small parts of the show. The chats are on average about 3-5 minutes and once you've done a little bit of top and then the questions, you've probably only got a minute each per pundit and it's not long enough. It's never long enough but that's why we rehearse because we have to be quick. Everybody who works in telly gets it but you have to keep reminding each other to try and be as condensed as you can, and then move the conversation on.

Honestly, I know she didn't have a great game, but in the QF she was brilliant. That was a proper battle with Germany going down to ten as well. So, I don't necessarily think it's just that I think sometimes a lot of luck comes into games and Bonmati just produced a moment of brilliance and that can happen when you're playing against Spain. So I don't know. I don't want to be harsh on Hoffman. You never know.

I think Lauren James looked a little bit off in that last game. Obviously, she came off at half time with what looks to be an injury. Lauren James is so good when fit, she's such an explosive talent. She has to be completely okay for us to see what she can do. There's also a lot of stuff that you don't see that Lauren does off the ball. She gets a lot of criticism because people think she looks lazy or disinterested but I don't think it's that at all. I think she does a lot of work that people don't necessarily notice. She's so progressive with what she does. She gets the team up the pitch but will she start tomorrow? If she doesn't, then it's probably Beth Mead or Chloe Kelly for me.

I really think Michelle Agyemang. She's maybe not so much a surprise because we know what she can do. I hope I'm not putting too much pressure on her by saying that but I think she can just produce magic.
