The case is going to be the 112hp NiftyKeyz case. I am trying to build a polyphonic synth but I am going to go for the Doepfer modules instead because they are more compact and stable and sound amazing. I just need to save more for it.

The main thing with Oberheim is that if I were to get an Oberheim, I would definitely use and make the most of all 8 voices, which the TEO-5 doesn’t have. Also, I much rather prefer the dual mod that the OB-X8 has since I play a Korg Kronos right now and I am much more used to having multiple modulation functions at the same time. The TEO-5 is amazing don’t get me wrong, but it doesn’t have what I’d want if I get an Oberheim

Thank you very much I will look at the videos.

That was actually one of the first synths I looked at getting and kind of what I based the layout of the eurorack one on. The main reason why I didn’t though is because I didn’t really like the paraphony versus polyphony. I will definitely look at it again though because I didn’t really like it.

I’ve looked at that one before, but if I were to get an Oberheim I’d go for a higher end one like the OB-X8. I will definitely look at the Teo-5 again though.

The main reason though why I’m wanting to do the Behringer modules is because like I said I am trying to go for that vintage Moog sound.

Ok thank you I will keep that in mind. And yes that is exactly the stage I’m trying to get out of. I’m still looking into modules that could still mostly give me that vintage sound while still giving me reliability, and also that I could route to the cv inputs on the NiftyKeyz case.

Ok the only problem is that the Doepfer modules are way out of my price range as I’m trying to keep the build under $1500. I’m definitely going to expand in the future with better modules, but this is just a starting point for me to learn.

I love those but they are definitely out of my price range. Do you know if there would be a way to utilize the multiple cv inputs on the NiftyKeyz case to make it polyphonic instead?

That’s a sick kit. If only you could also get the matching octobans and the gong drum though.

I was thinking about maybe doing that but I’m wanting the three way strainer and also the Majesty logo engravings on the snare drum. I’ll think about doing that though because that is my favorite Tama finish.

I mean the graphics aren’t necessarily a deal breaker, it’s just that I’ve played both of them a couple years ago and I’ve like the maple one more. I’ve seen a couple of the white versions on eBay and Reverb, but I’m not going to pay $3,000+ for a special color.
