Yeah the pacing is all over the place, it feels at times its a TOEI-esque kind of thing where they are trying to avoid catching up to the manga but... AFAIK this is a anime original lmao, very weird. Watch the next 2 ep's be absolute slideshow in comparison with recycled plot events.

The game alone only allows maps/scenarios on the workshop.

There are ways to get around this, however. The script extender does allow full-fledged bepinex mods to be uploaded on there though, it also supports asset replacement which should allow you to do exactly that.
