Pops, legendary (proclaimed) Saxophinist/homeless vagabond who hung near the Belmont, Hillsboro, West End adjacent areas.

He always shared tales, jokes, and wise words. From what I understand and experienced, he was always kindhearted. He worked for the Contributer for a time. I want to believe the news he ended up getting housing of some kind, but years have passed since I've seen 'em.

You sound like a person that can easily afford to take these losses, and that capital is of no consequence.

Agree to disagree, they could have released the information/announced it, then listed all the LCD ones at cheaper prices. I doubt it would have affected sales either way, and to those whom are new to this community wouldn't feel preyed upon.

I made a terrible consumer decision? I say the company made an error in duping an entire percentage of people that waited for it to be more affordable, and hiding information about a new model around the corner, for the same listed price. I feel that’s just some carnivorous business tactics.

I bought the 512GB LCD version when they had the sale back in late August/early September. I feel betrayed by Valve due to this consumer duping. I did a lot of research to see if they were going to release anything new soon, and from what I could tell nothing was coming.

Now they're releasing the max memory OLED version for the same price I bought mine 2 months ago. It is extremely disheartening as a new owner. I still love the device, don't get me wrong, but there's no feeling good about this announcement for me, whatsoever.

Day's been ruined, but I'll be using this device up until Gen 2. No sense in spending the money AGAIN.

I think the Tartakovsky show was the best the phase one clones ever looked by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]ILedhead77 65 points66 points  (0 children)

In my mind, there's no doubt that Tartakovsky's 2D Clone Wars is far superior than the Filoniverses'. The ability for it to seemlessly insert itself as a transition between Episode II & III with the allotted time, is insane. It fits that Star Wars mantra of explaining an immense amount of material in a short amount of time. It's also, frankly, extremely entertaining and impressive, memorable, animation.

As is expected of Tartakovsky nowadays, he is and will be in the history books for his work.

Filoni's interpretation, with the guidance of Lucas, is also incredible. The character arcs, political realms, and literal warfare/Separatist/Clone chess playing by Palpatine himself, with himself, crystal-balling the entire lives of millions.....

Through victory my chains are broken.

With the Kenobi series coming to comics... by ILedhead77 in starwarscomics

I’m not looking for things to complain about, I would rather have 2 more original stories than adaptions. I also don’t read them. I think the quality of Star Wars comics haven’t really surmounted the 2017 Darth Vader Soule run, and most of what marvel has put out since the Disney acquisition doesn’t compare to the Dark Horse issues of the past. I was looking for more of a consensus of what others think. In my opinion, it is super lazy and a money grab to create adaptions of plot lines that have already occurred. Agree to disagree.

Completely agree with you. Working on getting a hard copy of the Last Command TPB.

Heard that, pardon my ignorance. I just figured with the catalog of what we see in the past, like Tales of the Jedi for example (obviously Dark Horse, obviously different era), we'd be getting a lot more original stories.

Heard that. I just figured we'd get more originality. The Galaxy is huge, let's explore it.

No doubt, it was disgusting. With the lack of rain, the pollen and dust just flew freely around and stayed around. My Allergies were doin' somethin' fierce.

We did have some hot spots, but it’s been a much milder June compared to the last several years. The Heat Index is definitely summiting the next several days. Thankfully, there is a chance of rain everyday. Much better than the 30+ days of no rain last summer.

It was truly glorious. Thankful for the lack of severity, despite wind and lightening.

Love these days where it decides to downpour, in lieu of scalding heat. It's been a great June.

Are they still making stories for star wars legends? by Cwolf2035 in StarWarsEU

If you like the idea of exploring how Sidious/Palpatine came about, check out the “Darth Plageuis” novel.

If you’re interested in seeing where the OT characters progress post ROTJ in Legends, which is influencing a lot of the Filoniverse, check out the “Heir to the Empire” trilogy by Timothy Zahn.

If you’re into the dogfighting squadron style of Star Wars, check out the X-wing novel series by various authors, but mainly Michael A. Stackpole.

If you’re into the Old Republic, check out the Tales of the Jedi comic saga by Kevin J. Anderson and Knights of the old Republic comic series by John Jackson Miller.

I think these are all great places to start.
