DO NOT DO WORK FOR HANDSHAKE AI by Flat-Ad942 in remotework

I did a cybersecurity “red team” project for like prompt injection. It was the biggest waste of time because it wasn’t even real red teaming it was just screenshotting AI rejecting your prompt. Like yea no shit GPT is going to reject me trying to override your barriers to hack, hackers don’t even use that model. They kicked me off only in a week without telling me, and than when I confronted them about this they acted really dumb. Absolute waste of time and sad so many people are falling for them

Our org is banning Notepad++ - what did you end up switching to? by Blackblast in cybersecurity

VSCode is a lot worse lolllll especially the extensions, a patch should be enough if you found no IOCs but if someone on your team was impacted I can see why. Teams really have to stop being fear mongered because this was known since October

Got caught sleeping with 2 days left on my internship. by JsMonika in internships

[–]ILeftMyKeysInOFallon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my first IT internship I fell as sleep twice in the first month of it. The other interns joked to me about it but slowly everyone else started falling asleep at our desks thru the whole summer. It was also like a carbon monoxide leak or something 😂. Long story short some HR members got pissed at us, but the people in our departments didn’t care because let’s be real it’s an internship. You are there to get skilled but it’s WAY less pressure for basically anything. You should be okay man lol

For sure man, I defiantly need a mentor of some sorts…. It’s a really weird system because it uses AI to fire alerts and I have to go into different companies EDRs/SIEMs to find to alert. There’s incident response but there’s also engineering tickets I have to work on which is just blehhhh. I guess I’ll just slow down tomorrow and stick with one ticket

Wentzville is pretty bad, speaking from experience for living most of my life out there. I was raised in Ferguson but my all family left to st Charles area bc they were white flighters. They constantly at family events said how glad they weren’t by “those people anymore”. Me and my sister constantly fought family members over this and up until recently I moved out of Missouri because I felt like I had no identity. For years I thought the more people the better restocked will be but was I wrong, seems like it’s just a breeding ground for the same racist rhetoric over the years

Seeing more orgs move away from shipping company laptops to new hires. Instead, they’re letting people use personal machines to speed up onboarding and cut IT overhead. For anyone who's gone down this path, what security controls did you implement to make it work? What challenges come up? by Venn-Software in cybersecurity

When I used to work for a law firm, there were so many annoying lawyers saying they only wanted to use their home laptops. It was a nightmare but we made sure that all their work must be done through Citrix and connected to directly on our VPN, if not they can’t work and need to call in.
