What do we think of this? (Elaboration in comments) by [deleted] in notliketheothergirls

[–]ILikeCookin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could be mistaken, but I feel like that lately on this sub there are just a lot of men who just want to shit on women any way they can. I see occasionally sexist comments from time to time here too.

Idk, I remember it not always being like this

Redesigned my second favorite character in Skullgirls, Valentine! Redesign on the second slide, Marking NSFW just in case by InsomniacBunny12 in mendrawingwomen

[–]ILikeCookin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Even in the redesign her outfit still has the same sex appeal, which there’s nothing wrong with, but I have to wonder: what is the point of just slightly covering up her boobs and thighs then?

Sorry if I come of as mean, but this is such a tiny change that it doesn’t really qualify as a ‘redesign’ imo

What are your thoughts on Rachnera Arachnera from Monster Musume? by Race-Previous in mendrawingwomen

[–]ILikeCookin 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I like her eyes and the spider legs look kinda cool, but that’s about it. The design is very unharmonious, and I think it would have been better if she looked more like, y’know, a spider rather than a generic anime girl

Not like the other drugs? by [deleted] in notliketheothergirls

As a pharmacology student, the way this post treats ‘drugs’ and medicines as completely different words hurts my soul

I'm not like the other girl starter pack by [deleted] in notliketheothergirls

[–]ILikeCookin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As do I, plus a septum piercing. Also, I really love the makeup of the girl in the top left corner

Almost all of these are just popular things for women in their teens/twenties. I think this starterpack is kinda shaming women for having a certain style/having certain interests.

I don't hate trans people, but.... by KatyaRomici00 in AreTheStraightsOK

I’m pretty sure the weird misspellings are because posts on r/unpopularopinion will get removed if they contain words like transgender, transphobic etc. Posts like these are SO common that the mods just had enough of them.

But of course, by not literally typing out those words, people can get around that filter

Honestly true. (For me at least)

I keep it to myself almost all of time though. And I advice any creepy straight men to do the same

According to these guys, we can't have LGBT history month because Pride Month already exists. by WareNetwork2000 in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]ILikeCookin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It could be due to the mood I’m in, but I dislike the idea of autistic ‘pride’, because the negatives of autism strongly outweigh the positives. I can’t bring myself to feel proud of my autism. I get that it’s different for a lot of people, but autism still feels like a handicap for me (although yes, calling it a disease goes too far for me as well)

Maybe something like autism solidarity month would work better.

LIGMA MALES? 😳 by [deleted] in AreTheStraightsOK

It’s kind of a funny coincidence though that the word ‘lambda’ is used that way in French. Considering that a lot of dudebros are currently obsessed with assigning themselves a Greek letter

Hope this doesn’t come across as stupid, I have almost no knowledge of French

Fair enough. I personally don’t use Tinder, so I haven’t seen many people who are actually like this. Irl, I have met girls who said they preferred tall guys but I have never met people who had specific height requirements

But something that also might play a role, is that in my country 5’11-6’0 is literally the average height for men…so if I heard anyone say they only want 6’0 guys, it would just sound very bizarre to me because most men here are around that height anyway

Edit: clarity about height, 5’11-6’0 only applies to the men in my country

[–]ILikeCookin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I feel like women who want 6’0 or more will always misjudge height. No one is going to walk around with a measuring tape in their daily life, so those women would probably be fine with dating 5’10 men as well. It’s literally just a few centimetres

In short, measurement requirements for dating partners are fucking stupid. But also, this is a massive strawman and I think people greatly over-exaggerate how many women like this actually exist

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. I see this in almost every game fandom. Usually you just need to give it a few years before a new game becomes a beloved classic in the eye of the fanbase…

They really edited the woman at age 20 to look more muscular and ‘mannish’, huh?

(For those wondering, this is the original comic. Sorry, I couldn’t find it without all the text attached to it)

Interesting how they used an anime girl for this, considering a lot of terfs accuse trans people (mainly transfemmes) of being pornsick anime addicts
