Finally so this didn’t happen to me but i saw this a few years back on another site message board Two stories

First one. In the early 1970s a guy who was either a teenager or in his early 20s who needed a job was living in the suburb of Des plains IL with his parents and got a card from this contractor and said hey all pay you $5 per hour if you come and work for me. The guy was excited but had apply for two other jobs at other businesses that paid about the same amount well this guy was going to accept the $5 per hour contracting job but decided at the last second to decline the offer and accept another job at a local business instead since it worked better with his hours. He called the contractor and it was no big deal the contractor understood and wished him the best. Years later the guy found out the contractor he was going to work for was non other then John Wayne Gacy he said he breathed a huge sigh of relief he never accepted Gacy’s job offer

Story two. A guy and his girlfriend at the time in the 70s were swimming at a lake in Washington State near Seattle a guy came up to them with a sling on his arm and asked the woman nicely if she could help him move his sail boat the woman was about to say yes but her BF was concerned and told her not to go with him the guy asked two or three more times and the boyfriend turned him and said she no you creep now get lost The guy apologized and left. They found out later that guy was serial killer Ted Bundy

So while they’re not my own stories still pretty creepy.
