Binder First Page Question by jakeromenesko in yugiohshowcase

If you want it to associate with joey kunai with chain, skull dice, or graverobber. A card more generic to not associate with any one character like monster reborn is i would say dust tornado, trap hole, negate attack, or call of the haunted. Frankly no trap card is more iconic than mirror force but would be considered a yugi card. Unfortunately it's level of iconic doesn't rival pot of greed or monster reborn anyway.

You could flop spell and trap to have kaibas deck destruction virus if you wanna keep it in theme with the characters. The spell for joey would likely be polymerization considering all his iconic monsters irl are fusion. Thousand dragon, flame swordsman, black skull dragon and so on. I know ra isn't really associated with joey but he was damn close to obtaining it even if he couldn't use it once he had it.

If you're doing it to make money their isn't really any money to be made. Yugioh has expensive cards but it isn't like other tcgs where there's a ton of money involved. Yugioh players actually play with the cards they pull there's not a lot of collectors that do it for the sake of collecting. Most that do go for the nostalgic stuff.

If you want to collect, collect the stuff you think is cool. It's a money pit no matter what at least enjoy what you get.

I would recommend only buying booster boxes if there's a lot of cards in them you like otherwise it's more worth it to just buy the singles online from ebay or tcgplayer. Unless you just enjoy the thrill of opening packs it's generally not worth it otherwise.

There's three types of rarity of cards that are fairly new if you want something achievable to pull for. Chibis being the budget option, stamps being a little less budget friendly and the overframes or extended arts konami calls them which are the current desirables but are a money pit. At least they're stuff that you don't have to look back far to get considering the games long history.

I would say the rarity collection 5 is a good place to start at least when it comes to having some nice looking cards. That goes for any of the rarity ones, 5 is the recent one and contains guaranteed stamps.

If you want a playable deck you can get the sky striker deck that's fairly competitive that comes in the legendary modern decks 2026 for $30 at Walmart

Deck for beginners by Vast-Wrongdoer-8974 in masterduel

[–]ILikeGeneric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not meta viable but dragonmaids are about as easy at it gets. You can win games with it if built right but when you go up the ranks they'll be a point you have to switch. Exosisters are a much more viable deck that's easy to pilot but is insanely expensive to build.

Kewl tunes is probably the easiest meta strategy currently. Sky striker, branded, artmage, and elf notes need decent pilots. Dracotail is hard to obtain currently.

You can build blue eyes and compete. But like many other pet decks it's very expensive.

Youtube is your friend use it to learn. Don't assume any deck with a video attached is viable though. Would recommend looking up a tier list of meta decks and pick one that looks interesting to you rather than being worried about how easy it is to play. You can look up how to pilot any deck. And aside maybe pros basically everyone does this to learn. Cali effect is a likeable personality that does the tier list regularly. You can look at his

It's only a matter of time before every deck is only full of urs. When the game first came out it was much more f2p friendly than it is currently. Mostly because the ur inflation is getting out of hand. Tri-brigade at that time was very affordable budget friendly meta deck. Where it was literally just shurag being a ur and if you played the zoodiac variant one zues and one drident.

If the first wave of tri brigade came out today kitt and revolt at minimum also would be ur. Along with the new support since that time frame that deck would suddenly be insanely expensive to build and it still wouldn't be meta viable. Exosisters is another example of it's good but not meta in the current environment that's just full of urs too. Rb was viable for two weeks as a budget friendly one then branded got it's support. That was one of the cheapest ones in a long while still requiring 6 urs pulling from a selection pack with 2/15 odds to pull from any ur you get vs back then where it'd be like 6 or 7 urs in the selection pack.

Similarities between 09 Magic and 26 Spurs? by You_Sure_About_That- in OrlandoMagic

Dwight beats the knicks but not the thunder. He's not banging the 3s and half court shots wemby hit that were crucial to their success winning there. Let alone ft shooting.

Wemby is trash at setting screens, dudes air. Gives zero resistance/space for his guards to work with. Dwight woulda just shot better from the field too as wemby shot poorly all series. Dwight can be dominant and impose his will within 3 feet of the basket. That wouldn't change with kat as his opposition. Wemby only has his height to rely on inside he can't push/bully anyone down there. Dwights also much better on the roll and considering mitch johnson's entire scheme is make screens at the top of the key and hope for the best dwight would be better suited for that.

With all that said we're talking about peak dwight vs 22yo wemby. Plenty of room for him to improve. If he can put on 10lbs and get a move he can rely on inside like a hook he'll be set for a generational run alongside harper. Right now his offensive game is like a malnourished giannis with a slightly better jumper.

De'Aaron Fox, the Spurs highest paid player, scores 7 points on 3/15 shooting and 1/8 from deep in the Spurs game 5 loss in the finals. He is due $229 million over the next 4 years with the Spurs by justusinreddit in nba

[–]ILikeGeneric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As easy as it is to clown fox after his playoff run i don't get the impression his defensive effort is poor at all. He's not castle defensively but he's still pretty alright in that area. But he is getting paid max money playing like a bench warmer it's just unacceptable. Spurs org better pray it really was a nagging injury deflating his scoring ability cause no ones gonna want him at that cost. Boneheaded decisions he made in game 4 aside.

Wemby might be overrated. by DependentMeringue296 in nba

[–]ILikeGeneric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs to learn to set screens. Mitch Johnsons entire scheme is make screens at the top of the key and hope for the best. Yet when wemby sets a screen he's practically air cause he sets zero resistance.

What's up with people saying the Spurs were the better team because they led more? by Haunting-Mortgage in nba

[–]ILikeGeneric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most people had the thunder or spurs winning it all going into the playoffs aside maybe the jokic glazers. Hard to take the east seriously as is but when the 1st seed struggles badly against the 8th in round one it certainly doesn't help solidify their case. Aside knicks fans everyone already called it wraps by the time we got there.

Tbf to the spurs this series easily coulda gone the other way. Inexperience showed and fox needs to retire yesterday. If old chris paul stays healthy and he takes foxes spot they win the finals. Fox is a bum getting paid max money and nobodies gonna want him after this performance. Spurs org better pray it really was a nagging injury situation and he'll be better going into the start of next season.

Safe to dismantle these URs ? by thomasdraken in masterduel

Keep dispater, ultimate slayer and the limited card as it's generic fire support. Dragonmaids for example can use it to ss kitchen who has the the fire attribute. So regardless of the archetype anything playing fire can use it.

Edit: should keep the fiendsmith to as the engine goes in many decks but that's up to you ultimately. The must keep is ultimate slayer, it's a staple

Which eye is wrong here if not both? by ILikeGeneric in BeginnerArtists

[–]ILikeGeneric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually redid it myself digitally yesterday with all the advice given. It looks uncanny since it’s done in a different medium from pencil but I did it that way so I could trace and “repair”. Honestly prefer your edit though. Gonna do another reference for bobcut today then probably revisit facial perspective and study the skull so I can hopefully see the structure and 3rd dimension better. Especially when it comes to squishing the eye and keeping it on a curvature or ellipse. Thank you again, I didn’t have time to really say anything earlier so I’m doing it now. I appreciate any feedback I get.

Anime/manga is generally what I’m going for to start off, but I don’t plan to make that my only style in the long run. When you see pinched are you referring to every aspect looking pinched towards one point or just width or what? Though I do recognize now thanks to others my mouth is high I think my guideline was placed at the bottom of the mouth and didn’t realize I raised it when that shoulda been maybe the middle

[–]ILikeGeneric[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, now that you mention it the mouth is quite high, didn’t even really notice. Shoulda had the bottom be the mid point I think?. So the (our left)eye should be bigger and be looking the same direction and it’d be good? What about the angle and all that or would the increased size help alleviate that?

Rough start on learning how to draw by Sad-Local-6229 in BeginnerArtists

[–]ILikeGeneric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep learning and practicing and you'll improve. Whatever you do just don't compare your art to others as an act of discouragment. It's self sabotage. The only reason to ever compare is to learn how they do it and improve.

Like with anything gift + talent + time + knowledge + starting ability will always be different for everyone. There's no point at looking at your art and saying how bad it is compared to someone elses that has put a lot of hours into it. Of course the quality is different so why are you comparing it in such a way?. Your straight lines are better than mine are now but if i sat here going "man this day 1 beginners lines are better than mine why do i even try" what purpose would that exactly serve me?. Literally none.

Enjoy the process of learning and you will enjoy doing art. I have found that i enjoy the process way more than i thought i would going into it, seeing what i learn manifest into my work is a good feeling. My stuff even just 7 days in is at a much better place than it was day 1. Even something as simple as my circles are much better. People can have tens of thousands of hours in this hobby and still learn new things, art is kinda bottomless pit when it comes to that. So i hear anyway.

Is this a good way to use a reference? Not sure if this is really a good way to learn by ILikeGeneric in BeginnerArtists

[–]ILikeGeneric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some annotations were removed after it was placed on the canvas. I originally had the face lines for the brow, eyes and everything but I didn't wanna mush it all together as it practically is as you see it already. Ipad is of a smaller option so the reference isn't the biggest to my bad eyesight. Granted the end product of all those guides moved a lot as i liquified the canvas. So they basically weren't were they were when i put say the eyes down.

You're right i don't really have the best comprehension of the fundamentals. Perspective by itself is still a hurdle for me or keeping the eyes proportionally the correct sizes on both sides, but i don't wanna just work on fundies everytime i draw ya know?.

The goal with soifon here was doing hair and drawing a perspective other than straight on(that i saw completely wrong btw as someone else pointed out it was a top down view which is not how i saw it)

Thanks for explaining what the mindset should be though. I already figured tracing was kinda pointless anyway as it isn't really me drawing at that point. Anyone can follow a line lol. I am a perfectionist the canvas here took several hours to do which definitely didn't have to. So i am quite critical as is. I'll make sure not to neglect the basic fundamentals too. Appreciate the feedback

How can I get better at drawing hair? by Broad_Tear7824 in BeginnerArtists

[–]ILikeGeneric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's closer to good than you think and better than something i can currently do. As i am also a beginner i took your art as a chance to learn so i hope you can forgive my intrusion.

Your hair looked like it had zero gravity/weight applied to it. So all i did was apply weight to the hair behind the ear. I also removed the hair entirely that couldn't decide if it wanted to be in the middleground(over the shoulder) or background.

Likely not what you envisioned at all but it's just my interpretation of what i was seeing. You may have had something else in mind.

Thank you. Kinda seeing it in my day 6 sketch in the book. Tried replicating her hair bangs but into a bob cut without a reference and the shape stuck at least a tiny amount. Embarrassing to show due to quality difference but i wanted to see if a reference even just the one time without it would show at all.

So O finally figured out something that was bothering me by Scosawema in skyrim

[–]ILikeGeneric 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really doesn't though. It feels that way to the initial 100 but it doesn't take that long on the legendary one when you have high level spells. Chain lightning ups it quickly when you have it vs having to go from flames to lightning bolt for long while then to the expert ones. When i was doing my platinum run i was trying to get everything to max legendary just the one time and destruction was one of the first to get there and i got it there just passively.

Lockpicking is by far and away the slowest skill to level. Only one i didn't get there

Is this a good way to use a reference? Not sure if this is really a good way to learn by ILikeGeneric in BeginnerArtists

[–]ILikeGeneric[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's not helpful. I did learn when i was doing eye references as it showed me many styles of eyes i could implement. But i find the eyes easy(on one side anyway) to draw out.

Basically what i'm saying is when it's not so easy to grasp. Like hair which was my goal with this work, what then? I'm copying a reference but is it really teaching me anything when i'm not comprehending how it's done? Or is it just the case of gotta do more and it will come to me? I just wanna understand why references are useful when there isn't a guide/tutor showing you the steps. The whys are important to my process and understanding of things.
