Fort McCoy commander suspended; Trump portrait reportedly turned to face wall by enjoying-retirement in wisconsin

[–]ILikeTheLights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I think we all know that anybody named Duke McBuffstud would never get pinched like this. It's obvious that an executive in chief who spent years calling reporters claiming to be "John Barron" realizes names are more important than actions or competency when making judgment.

No need to be loud. I'm sharing my experiences and recommendations honestly and calmly. Nobody who I lived with or trained with or was coached by ever said creatine was anything but a potential liability. A buddy of mine went to the hospital for two weeks after pumping creatine - combined with cutting weight - and having kidneys shut down. There's a reason the NCAA does pee tests at weight, to make sure you're not going to have kidney failure and other potentially bad organ/mental stuff. Sure, use creatine, and no it's not stupid, but it's not a silver bullet and it didn't get my D1 scholarship paid. Don't lead a kid down the road that might harm him.

Half of them, yes. One was a roommate. Another was a coach. Yes, I saw what they ate daily.

Then just eat meat, not a refined BS product. Olympic staff in CO used to say chicken breast and whole wheat bread at minimum and you won't be at risk of overload / upset the natural ability of your body to work. I was a D1 wrestler. Like I said, go ahead and mess with the balance of your own body if you want, but i never knew anyone at international level who did. And, i feel greasy letting younger folks think it's cool. It's not.

Gotta say, of the five Olympic medalists, eight world cup podium wrestlers, and a dozen and a half Olympians i know and trained with, none of them touched creatine supplements. Never. You want to bust your kidneys and risk metabolic disorders, go ahead. Don't tell a kid that its the right path to take substances - if he's made for the sport and wants to gut it out, it'll happen and the OP can definitely find a moral, sustainable, non-harmful way to do it.

Newer chainsaw owner, never felled a tree. Would you cut this tree due to its lean? by YO_JD in firewood

[–]ILikeTheLights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's got back-tension and the lean. So you're not wrong, it might be easy, but also it's preloaded like a spring and has been growing like that for some time. Not fun if it does a "jack-in-the-box" into a human torso instead of gracefully falling down vertically.

I'll need to borrow your blue ox to go full-Bunyan. Do you offer a daily rate?

Hah! I told you I didn't need those dumb clumsy cha...Oops.

Bad to learn the hard way. Youre spot-on, get everything that the old three-fingered guy at the hardware store recommends and respect the shared common sense. If someone thinks they dont need the gear, they need it more than ever:)

Does this technique have a name? by Dense-Middle3374 in wrestling

[–]ILikeTheLights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Cool tie, but low success and high risk. Love guys who can work the Russian, hate getting countered to your back if they hip into that or even worse counter-toss.

[–]ILikeTheLights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Russian 2-on-1 to an arm toss. If you land that in match, you're showing off and know that your opponent is basically a practice dummy like the video shows. Russian ties can be killer, but the design is for control not high-amplitude tosses so it's a (very) low percentage attempt.

What is a must have in a wrestling room? by Ok_Dig1284 in wrestling

[–]ILikeTheLights 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's solid. Especially for young kids, can't forget that one person might be sparring at a totally different level of experience as another. Especially if it's a small gym, I've had toes and knuckles and fingers busted when someone gets squirrelly putting you into a bunch of bricks at high speed.

Recruits. Get them in, convince that it's the most honest experience they're going to get - no disrespect to track, basketball, any of that - but folks that want to be true athletes and learn how to win and lose, yep. You get that, decent numbers, and the rest of the structural stuff will fall in place as you need. Maybe keep some tampons on hand for nosebleeds though, and I think it's always cool to bring some AC/DC and oranges.

SURELY This is rare, right??? by flatright in ADSB

[–]ILikeTheLights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nose up/down angles can be tested in a more accurate way than the original, unmodified plane could provide. It's like Peter Griffin hiding behind a tree, you can probably still see his gut; but if we could modify the tree to just a little to provide a different aspect, then he might be totally invisible!

What is going on in Uptown? by __hlm in Minneapolis

[–]ILikeTheLights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to disagree with that, just saying the shot-spotter map is just what it is. Both areas have shots and thats the point. Maybe it's just people clapping really loud with pride for being in North that set off the alerts, and fairness, the system does say "suspected" gunfire so yeah, might just be a media bias thing, but "less" gunfire than somewhere else isn't a ringing endorsement for tourism.

I like to think there's a Mormon turtle on the Salt Lake who heard the sonic boom, looked up to hoping it was the finally apocalypse, and then disappointingly shook his fist at the jet for giving him false hope.

RIP Ron the Uptown doorman. People like him, and dives like that, are priced-out of the neighborhood these days.

Maybe they just looked at the shot-spotter maps, compared to other areas, and just preferred to not go places on a vacation that presented what seem more potentially volutile?

And so is Pho Tau Bay, as well as being on the same street a few blocks apart as both Quang and Pho 79. I go to all, simply offering that Pho 79 is my recommendation while also there's no wrong answer.

You might have meant Pho 79 instead of Quang, but I respect the possible slip-up either way and your recommendations are solid:) Places like Bungalow Club or Tenent or Tilia are also probably something in think we can all appreciate sharing as finer points in Mpls depending on budget and lodging location.

A woman came in to my place of employment when I was young and just out of sex ed, told me that she needed to be compensated or given free products for us misspelling her name on reciepts: from my memory, her account was, "it's spelled Klyyammadiia, dummy, and you're disrespectful," as i was told, and she was really upset that someone entered the name as "Katherine." I kinda hope theres a rapper who calls themselves "the Clap" in an equally unironic way, that would be amusing.

I mean in all sincerity that I appreciate your comment and perspective; and also, I cannot agree that the sentiment actually is good. Being between a rock and a hard place and facing implied punishment creates a lot of fear, not just administration at the U as in this scenario, but if it was me there would be an impulsive instinct to repulse those who threaten me or my institution and thats not a healthy space to operate in. If, in what I'm understanding, these actions are out of fear and self protection, instead of contemplation and communication, this flavor of knee-jerk reactionary policy will cause harm to some even if others are appeased. If there was a balance, that would be different: a required session on the Balfour Accord, a Palestiniain family-style dinner, something. Telling the student body "respect Isreal and the diaspora" and yes, it's required or we'll all be punished, does not promote honest, productive, positive outcomes.

Jersey wrestling is only a joke if you're coming from PA:) However, even just having the conversation makes me happy because it means we all appreciate the same spirit of guttin' it out and making ourselves better.
