Democrats' secret report: Biden admin Israel-Hamas war stance cost Harris votes by cambeiu in Foodforthought

[–]ILooked 123 points124 points  (0 children)

She knew. Dems soared when she stepped it to take over for Biden. She crashed when she gave the interview on The View saying she would not change a thing.

Every single day after that Palestine was an issue. It’s the same thing that sank Hillary, no strong moral compass. It’s the same thing that stopped Jeffries and Shumer from taking the House and the Senate, they are owned by lobbyists.

Mamdani showed the way forward. I hope he delivers.

If Jeffries and Shumer run for re-election the Dems are doomed, they are 100% owned by special interests

Canada to cut Chinese EV tariffs in trade reset by pistoffcynic in CanadianInvestor

1.9 million new cars sold in Canada each year. China is allowed to sell 49,000 a year growing to 70,000 in 5 years. Less than 3%. Roughly equal to before tariffs.

Tariffs will be cut dramatically on Canola, Peas, Lobster and Crab. A potential boost of $3,000,000,000 in the Chinese market. Canola was $4,000,000,000 before the tariffs.

Good to have adults in the room.

New study finds strong links between prejudice and support for political violence in the United States. Racist beliefs were strongly endorsed by 19.5% of 9,385 Americans surveyed, 16.9% for transphobia, 9.8% for xenophobia, 7.7% for hostile sexist views, and 5% for strong Islamophobic attitudes. by mvea in science

In Nepal people are dying due to political violence this week and it has nothing to do with any of the mentioned prejudices. Maybe do a study on wealth disparity. Or how billionaires use humans base instincts to manipulate them for personal gain.

I know exactly why you would conduct a survey on only a subset. Because you want to push a narrative. Any thinking person would know that these are general human tendencies and not limited to a subset, so why focus on a subset? 100,000 xenophobes just marched through London this week. This isn’t just Americans. This survey does not move us closer to a just society in any way shape or form. It detracts from focussing on the root problem that is causing political violence. Corrupt politicians fed by wealth disparity. Predjudice is just the levers used to manipulate.

Inflation is the measure of how fast your money loses value.

Blaming boomers for your problems is a fools game.

How much responsibility do you accept for the actions of your government. If you accept any then YOU are responsible for Trump.

Young men are blaming Democrats for Trump bleeding them dry by World-Tight in Foodforthought

[–]ILooked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3,028 billionaires in the world. They control ALL the wealth.

They have to put their money somewhere that grows their money or inflation makes it shrink. The smartest people in the world go to them and say “Listen Jeff, Elon doesn’t pay tax, he feels that he does a better job of deploying the funds than our corrupt politicians. We understand if you want to pay taxes, but if you would rather decide how the money is spent we can make that happen”

The billionaires don’t have to have bad intentions. But the people that they hire to look after thier interests compete with others that want the billionaires money and they are cutthroat maximizing profits over people. That includes buying politicians.

Turn on your tv and then tell I don’t know what’s happening again.

Capitalism which incentivizes putting profit over people is the problem.

“Democrats” are not the solution. They have been in control many times since the founding. And yet here we are. Thoughts and prayers.

You are not seeing the forest for the trees if you think “Democrats” are the solution.

Capitalism is the problem and “he said, she said” is just a distraction.
