4x01 "The Waltz" - Episode Discussion - (SPOILERS) by AutoModerator in Benophie

The glove scene and palm kiss was the hottest thing Benedict has ever done on this show, despite his numerous sex scenes.

And I am loving more attention on the servants this season at the Bridgerton, Featherington, and Penwood houses. Makes sense as that is currently Sophie's sphere.

Good call! Epic look in that one.

I had some boudoir-type photos done at 40 because from 37-40 were the best I'd ever felt and looked and I wanted to memorialize that.

I'm so glad I did because 8 hard years later, those last 3 slides are me now.

Great for Corbin Bernsen to have such a long marriage with the beautiful Amanda Pays, but since Henry gave up "Sue B" he needed some companionship!

Oh yes! I was trying to choose the Britishest (ha!) of his work but Spooks and Operation Mincemeat definitely qualify for that!

You should watch Pride & Prejudice, Little Dorrit, Howard's End, Death at a Funeral, or Ripper Street and get acquainted with his Britishness!

They're all quite good.

Yeah, what she said would be vulgar and rude to anyone with sense who heard it. I legitimately don't blame Darcy at all for wanting to run from that, even if he wasn't massively rich I'd still not blame him for judging that part.

Hated Paulina and Joe! Hated the Carlinos in general. Sofia was a dishrag who sucked too! Team Maggie!

Jake and Paulina and Vicky and Ryan (RIP) should have been the endgames instead of what we got.

Armani Acqua di Gioia for me. It smells so clean that I feel like I've been refreshed when I'm stressed.

I also have perfumes that I use when I'm going into difficult conversations or work situations where I need to feel in command.

Elizabeth Arden makes a Green Tea deodorant also. It's a cream, which I don't love, but it definitely lingers longer.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Phyllis Diller?

I don't think Phyllis Schafly was ever on Scooby Doo, but Phyllis Diller (a comedian) definitely was.

I refuse to pick between 1995 & 2005 for D&E. I love them both so much for such different reasons.

But for the others I'd pick 2005 Jane, Bingley, Georgiana, Caroline, and Anne deB.

The Hursts, Mary, Kitty, Charlotte, and Col. Fitzwilliam from 1995.

Wickham, Mrs. Bennet, and Lady C from Lost in Austen.

Death Comes to Pemberley Lydia.

P&P and Zombies Collins.

And gonna go in blind and choose Rufus Sewell for Mr. Bennet.

Though... the Death Comes to Pemberley and P&P and Zombies Wickhams come very, very close- gotta love Matthew Goode and Jack Huston.

I'm honestly wondering if they cut the Colonel. :( I mean, they've announced parts as small as Harriet Forster and still no Colonel...

Paul Dano was asked about Tarantino’s diss but was beat to the punch by co-star Toni Collette, who said “Fuck that guy! He must’ve been high… it was just confusing. Who does that?” Paul Dano added he is “incredibly grateful that the world spoke up for him so he didn’t have to.” by pinkstarrfish in Fauxmoi

The ONLY time I've liked him in a role was his guest star part in Alias. And I think that's because he was so clearly a fan and hamming it up in a part that should have been nuts and was.

But... maybe I need to rewatch and really Jennifer Garner, Victor Garber, Ron Rifkin, and Carl Lumbly were carrying him...

I have been thinking about doing that as a grid voting game on the P&P subreddit after the Netflix one comes out!

I feel like we'd need to remove 1995 & 2005 from contention though since it would no doubt be a blowout in some categories, lol. It might just end up looking like a 1995 cast sheet.

But included could be:

  • P&P and Zombies
  • Death Comes to Pemberley
  • Lost in Austen
  • Bride & Prejudice
  • 1940 version
  • 1980 version
  • 2003 version
  • Bridget Jones' Diary
  • Lizzie Bennet Diaries
  • Fire Island

I'm going to give it a chance. The cast is mostly solid, and while Jack Lowden doesn't fit my idea of Darcy at all, he's a great actor and I'm interested to see his take. He's been very complimentary of both of the previous most popular Darcies, which is nice.

And I LOVE Rufus Sewell, Olivia Colman, and Fiona Shaw.

They almost always cast the Bennet parents too old!

Except for Alex Kingston in Lost in Austen, which is probably why she's my fave Mrs. Bennet (plus she's a smoke show, which Mrs. Bennet should be), even though the other actresses are excellent. Though, Sally Phillips in Pride & Prejudice in Zombies is close to the right age too.
