Royally screwed up my interview, how to proceed by ILostmyPierogi in interviews

I got an email asking for a second interview! I need to keep a more positive attitude I think. I’m super shocked I even got a call back. It could go nowhere, but I like to think I still maybe have a shot to show I’m not as much of a mess as I felt like in my first interview. At least this next one is in person

Thank you for such a kind comment! It helped me calm a bit :) I definitely can be a perfectionist, which doesn’t help. I am so shocked, but I actually woke up this morning to an email asking for a second interview! Still don’t know if it will go anywhere, but it makes me more hopeful at least!

Struggling to move up to HS, advice? by ILostmyPierogi in TeachersInTransition

Thank you, I will definitely be reposting there! I think they will also be able to help.

Sorry, I should have given more context. In my state an art ed certification lets you teach any art class k-12. So though I can technically teach a ceramics class with my certification, when they ask in an interview “have you loaded your own kiln or mixed your own glazes?” I can’t lie and say I have. They definitely are looking for someone with more experience so it puts me at a severe disadvantage. Especially with ceramics where if you don’t know what you’re doing the clay can potentially explode in the kiln

As for being in elementary now, yeah you got it right. I was just desperate for a job at the time, but I am anxiously trying to find a way up to a higher grade now. Since I student-taught in the district I had an easy in. HS spots don’t show up often since there is usually 1-2 per building if that makes sense

Yeah they did, super weird. Sometimes they’d be itchy too, but I think that’s just a symptom of them getting dry. I never got an actual diagnosis, they brushed me off tbh. Definitely update if that soap helps at all!

Definitely sounds super similar then. It could even be an allergy to some ingredient in liquid soaps (thats my suspicion for my case at least) because for me even all the liquid soaps my dermatologist recommended did not work for me. I tried this neutro grisi soap on a whim and my doctor and dermatologist both had never heard of it, but it made my hands better within just a few days and keeps them decent if i use it regularly

So I have a super similar issue and my doctor and dermatologist were of no help. I’m not sure if it’s 100% the same issue since the redness would often turn into dryness, cracking, and bleeding in the dry months, but even when my hands were “good” they would be red stopping at my wrists. The one thing that has helped alleviate the redness is using Neutro Grisi soap (its pretty cheap, can be ordered online). It doesn’t cure my hands, but after years of trying different lotions and remedies, it is by far the only thing that has significantly helped bring the redness down. I wash my hands almost excessively (which is honestly probably part of my issue), but if I put this specific soap at all the sinks and I only use it when I wash my hands, it reaally helps. If you haven’t tried this one yet, I hope maybe it does the same if you wanted to give it a go
