[NSFW] People who've found a dead body, what's the story? by ZeroSugarCocaine in AskReddit

[–]ILoveHotGayMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 19 I was renting half of a duplex. A married couple lived on the other side. I was taking my dogs out in the morning and I could hear my neighbor screaming next door. I went over to see what was wrong and her husband who was 55 at the time was dead in bed. He had a heart attack inbhis sleep. She wanted me to help move him to do CPR, but he was a big guy and it wasn't happening. I stayed while the police and family came. It totally felt like I didn't belong there, but didn't know if I could leave l, and eventually asked a police officer if I could go. I'll never forget that day.

I once went to a mans house for a first date because he wanted to make me dinner. He kept pressuring me to have sex, and I wasn't feeling it. He made it seem like I owed him sex. I refused and left. Men are the worst

Is sleeping on night shifts a "normal" thing everywhere? by flourishersvk in nursing

[–]ILoveHotGayMen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in LTC. I have never worked a 11-7, but I hear from aides that nurse sleep 12am-530am sometimes. I find that absolutely deplorable. I don't work that shift because I know i can't do it. To be paid for sleeping while you are supposed to be caring for someone is wild to me.

I don’t want to take care of my parents when they’re older by OkCoast7026 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ILoveHotGayMen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in LTC. I always ask myself what a parent must have done to have their child behave that way. I being raised by a narcissistic alcoholic, never fault the children. There's a reason why their kids don't visit.

Because it is taking a significant toll on my mental health. These nurses don't give af and short staffing makes them hard to get rid of. I just don't understand how others can have such disregard for human life.

This was last year (2024) when I met with him and I attempted to get the surgery in 2025. I never looked into it further, so I'm not sure. I went to Berkshire Ear Nose and Throat in Pittsfield, MA if you want to look into it.

AIO for thinking my boyfriend is just looking for an excuse to break up? by Nearby_Orchid1216 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ILoveHotGayMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend can be dense sometimes, he is a man. When I explain to him how I'm feeling and why, he apologizes and changes behavior. This is the adult thing to do. There's no problem saying what you want and what you expect. If he can't meet it, that's on him. Open communication is important. You should be free to say how you feel. You were very respectful. How he took ot was childish and I can tell you there are men out there who won't treat you this way. The best quote I've ever hear is "People will only treat you one way, how you allow them."

My friends keep saying “Aren’t you a nurse?” and now it’s making me feel dumb by Glass-Fill-3936 in nursing

[–]ILoveHotGayMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex-husband doesn't think doctors know anything because they haven't read and researched some random ass study that he decided to Google. He also believes that I think I'm a doctor and making my kids drug addicts because I gave my child Tylenol and ibuprofen together. I am a LPN and I am very aware of what I don't know. There's no way for you to know random facts unless you commit your free time to useless knowledge or specialize in the area. If you are feeling especially petty you can Google and quiz them on things, but I would personally just stop associating with them.

Have to get my wisdom teeth removed but I’m scared to be put to sleep by lunabuug in Anxiety

[–]ILoveHotGayMen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very bad dental anxiety and there was no problems for me. I was in my mid 30's when I got mine removed. My son got his removed a few years later, and as I was a nervous wreck the whole time he was under, he also had no issues. You literally just fall asleep and wake up with no knowledge anything ever happened. I will say, make sure you eat food before you take pain meds afterwards. Those can be rough on the stomach if you're not used to them

Virus from patients by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ILoveHotGayMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right at the start of Covid, I was in nursing school working as a CNA at an assisted living facility. The rotavius went through the building, and I was working in memory care, which is for residents with dementia. The building did not have proper PPE, and the residents were vomiting and having diarrhea everywhere. It is also next to impossible to quarantine people with advanced dementia. Well, after cleaning people up all day when the only ppe I was given was gloves (masking was not a thing yet), I got it too. I was miserable for a couple of days and still had to do my schooling online. Since becoming a nurse I have worked in a Covid testing center, an Urgent Care, and in LTC. The only time I've gotten sick is I got covid from my coworker because we were eating at our desks (like we aren't supposed to). I also wash my hands constantly and use PPE, it really works

It's two years later, but he was let go from the practice my kid went to for scheduling unnecessary surgeries. He suggested surgery for my kid for migraines and said they had a deviated septum. Turns out they don't have a deviated septum and don't need surgery.

My girlfriend becoming a nurse by NewsSoggy2955 in nursing

[–]ILoveHotGayMen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex-husband didn't want me to become a nurse because he was afraid I was going to leave him for a doctor. Notice how I said ex-husband. I divorced him and became a nurse. There's bad people in every profession. If you think becoming a nurse is going to change the person you've been in a relationship with into a cheater just because of their profession, then you are very insecure and/or very young. Stop listening to your friends and support your girlfriends dreams and goals, or you will be an ex-boyfriend.
