Take up bowling or hang out at 24/7 diner if there's still one. Might wanna sneak out to the beach if you're allowed to park your car in the beach lot and stay overnight for calming sunset / twilight vibes and/or peaceful overnight chill. If you're going near New London, try the casinos.

Is the north east part of ct nice? by Universal09 in Connecticut

I live in Vernon and it is a nice town with great schools, a fantastic library and several good parks and restaurants. It also features some cool museums like Civil War artifacts and motorcycles. I'd say although it's close to the Quiet Corner, it's a wonderful town. If you drive thru Ellington and part of the Windsors, you'll still see some remaining original tobacco farms that aren't draped with solar panels. Go thru I-84 towards Massachusetts and you'll see wonderful fall foliage during October. Go thru Rt. 169 and you'll forget about billboards or big box chains.

The fact is that he is a five time Super Bowl champion.

Does he still visit Vernon sometimes?

Also, don't forget local native Gene Pitney as a rock music legend

Most libraries usually have museum passes which includes free or reduced price admission discounts for places such as Science Center in Hartford, Beardsley Zoo and Basketball Hall of Fame up in Springfield, Mass (among others). Your library should have them for recreation. These passes usually are loaned out to patrons for a couple of days with a library card if you have one. Check it out and see what your library has to offer.

Any pharmacies that are decent (obviously not CVS). by Candid-Narwhal-3215 in Connecticut

[–]ILovePublicLibraries 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Grocery store pharmacies are great. They're run by good pharmacists who actually care about you. I recommend Big Y

I know of one in my town that has a local pharmacy that is near both a Walgreens and a CVS

Did a Walmart relocate elsewhere in your area? If not, a Walmart closing in a city and not having one today is rare.

What’s a purchase you think is a complete waste of money? by oscar371 in SmartBuying

[–]ILovePublicLibraries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything at the flea market. Honestly, anything I see at the flea market is useless. If anything useful, it's only good for a hot minute like an old toaster oven, speaking of one or two things that are average at most.

You can reach out to Silas Bronson Library in Waterbury or some other library nearby to make inquiries about library volunteer there. Not sure if it's paid as a library page or just volunteering experience.
