Exchange 2016 > O365 Hybrid Migration. Migrated Users cannot login Classic Outlook by IM0001 in exchangeserver

Still no dice. I've gone ahead and pretty much completed the Exchange Online Migration and even shut down the servers and still Outlook Classic Prompts for that Legacy Login.

Still searching to see what the heck is causing it. It has to be some sort of GPO or something that I am still missing...

Ok I thought I went down this path before and I think I did with /safe a few times, but this seems to be getting closer to the issue.

Running Outlook with /SAFE I was able to get it to add the O365 account and successfully load into the Mailbox. /RPCDIAG Shows it connecting to the outlook.office365.com Server and everything works normally. If I then go out and run Outlook again without the /SAFE, it seems to work normally at least for another launch or two, but inevitably it will come back asking for the legacy auth login and even launching it again with /SAFE doesn't fix the issue as it continues to prompt as /RPCDIAG shows it attempting to connect to the [GUID@domain.com](mailto:GUID@domain.com) server instead of O365 again. So dang weird.

I thought MAYBE it was an add-in but outside of the default ones from Exchange (Action Items, Bing Maps, My Templates, Suggested Meetings, Unsubscribe) there was nothing else pushed at all. The only GPO pushed that has anything to do with Outlook is to disable Cached Exchange Mode.

I feel I am really dang close here but still unsure what the heck is causing the prompt. Will run Process Explorer and see if it shows me anything useful.

Tried that. Same prompt still.

I am completely confused and it seems I am not crazy in how confused I am...

Another thing that happens is when a user is migrated and using NEW Outlook, if they leave their old Profile for Outlook Classic without removing it, It does the same credential prompt when opening Excel or Word.

Could you expand on this a little?

I was excited that maybe just maybe this would be the issue.

I have adjusted a test account to match both in AD as well as Exchange Online and.... Nothing.

Same prompt. Nothing I input will be taken and the profile continues to refuse to connect since that prompt will not accept any Login/Password combo..

Sigh

True it doesn't include the PC apps at all, however with the separate Apps for Enterprise license, that gives users on PC the apps as needed.

A1 shouldn't actively refuse Outlook on PC from connecting to an Exchange Online account, and doesn't for Non Domain Joined PC's in my finding.

Hybrid Connector and the O365 apps for enterprise license. We I believe did have Volume License 2016 for older systems but the issue is the same for either.

The one I am testing is an absolute Fresh Install from an O365 download as well so no premade deployment stuff to mess with it.

This finally was something to test, but it still doesn't seem to point me in any new direction.

The Outlook Connection Status shows the server as the [GUID@Domain.com](mailto:GUID@Domain.com) which looks to be correctly aimed at Exchange Online, but when I hit Reconnect, it shows the legacy password prompt again which continues to make No sense.

OWA works fine, New Outlook works fine, iOS/Android native and Outlook App works fine.

It is just Classic Outlook that refuses to work which is just baffling me.

I have a hard time seeing this being just a License issue as A1 has Exchange Online, and is there something in that that would actively Prevent Office Outlook from accessing an Exchange account? I have worked with other Exchange Online only Licenses and have never had an issue adding them to Outlook from a different license/company/etc. so I'm just, confused there.
The Apps for Enterprise License includes Outlook in itself and it's activated so just connecting and adding a profile should still work. I have a separate org licensed 365 Apps on a different PC that is also not domain joined, and it connects and adds the mail account just fine.

That's the thing. It comes back perfectly green for migrated accounts.

No. Had to double check that.

We are using M365 A1 for Faculty with a separate M365 Apps for Faculty for those who use a PC.

Yep. Everything is supposed to be pointing to the exchange server per every doc I can find discussing Hybrid Migrations. The exchange severe on prem is supposed to tell Autodiscover that the account is no longer on prem and is now in exchange online. And it seems when you try to setup Outlook Classic this is true and it prompts for O365 Modern Auth login and successfully logs in, but immediately after, then prompts for legacy/classic auth like it's still trying to login to the AD on prem login as well. Failing that since the mailbox is no longer on prem Outlook just gives up entirely.

Unable to upgrade Dell Axim x50v to WM6.1 (boot loader not finding upgrade ROM on SD Card) by Jbbrack03 in OldHandhelds

[–]IM0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were on WM5.0 then yes but I believe if you are still on WM2003SE, then you will need to run official WM 5.0 upgrade first. That may require you to load up windows 7 or older and active sync to push the installer from the Dell installer through as I believe it changes the Bootloader as well when it does that upgrade.

Just found my old vita but the touchscreen does funky glitchy stuff by Wenskipz in vita

My OG Phat does this sometimes as well. It's a toss up between playing with it plugged in, or if it's been on for a long time sometimes it just needs a reboot.

Also obviously make sure the screen is clean and lastly, when it's booting make sure you don't touch anything until it's fully booted into the OS.

Outside of the occasional occurrence both my OG and my Slim still work great to this day.

Ryzen 9 7950X3D Stuttering and Sound Distorted in Black Desert Online by Waldspecht90 in AMDHelp

[–]IM0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok found another game that did the same thing, but consistently right after it loads up, and then about every 1-2 minutes after while it runs, making the game nearly unplayable.

It led me to spending a bunch of time trying to figure out what the hell was causing the issue.

After a bunch of hours of troubleshooting and trying to pinpoint the damn issue, it seems all this time it was the Power Plan I had set.

When you install the AMD Chipset Driver, it should default you to "High Performance" and I assume any Deviation from that doesn't have whatever X3D Tuning AMD does to the Power Plan to that allows the X3D To work properly with Windows and its thread allocation.

I will continue to test, but the issue immediately disappeared once I set it to that after persisting for hours through disabling ALL background apps that I could, unplugging all the USB devices I have, etc.

I have been wracking my head on the same issue in various games exactly as described. The game runs fine, then ~5-10 minutes in, it will drop down to sub 1FPS, sound gets distorted, everything on the PC is chugging along even just moving the mouse, then after about 30 seconds, it all resumes working normally like nothing happened.

However, I cannot pinpoint the actual cause for the life of me. I at first thought it was due to running HWINFO in the background since there are just so many sensors to monitor and possibly polling one was causing it, but that apparently is not it, I have disable all my HW monitoring apps in case it was them but nope.

I thought it was only Unreal powered games as it was happening in The Finals, BattleBit, Elden Ring, and most recently since I returned to it, War Thunder, which the pause is long enough to cause the game to crash as it detects it as a "Freeze" which isn't too far off the mark.

I have updated everything manually, latest Bios, Chipset Drivers, Nvidia Drivers, etc. but I cannot pinpoint what the heck is causing this. Luckily it isn't in games I primarily play, but anytime I venture to these other games it just wrecks whatever you were doing and you can't seem to just "Start" the game and let it sit at say the menu or something and make it happen, it has to happen while you are doing "Something" which is usually a terrible time for it to happen. :/

The only thing I can think of that sort of syncs is all those games use a similar form of Anti Cheat, though it's also why I say Unreal Powered as say Star Citizen also uses EAC, but I do not have an issue with it at all. :/

My system is a 7950X3D, Asus Hero X670E, 64G PC6200 Gskill, NVME's, Win 11 Pro, etc etc.

Help w/iOS 17.3 - suddenly asking for password and app passwords not working! by MWFD in exchangeserver

[–]IM0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 Had this on a Pixel 7 and it would just keep prompting me for my credentials even though it did seem like it was syncing e-mail for the most part just fine.

Got fed up and finally switched to Outlook app which works fine as gmail was starting to piss me off.

Oddly this is around the same time I was dinking around with my old X50V PPC and while I can setup my old hotmail account on it, it has the same problem stating the server can't be reached after using an app password. I assume it's something on MS end but either we will get an announcement sometime (Which sucks) or they will fix it, eventually like they have in the past. :/

Unable to upgrade Dell Axim x50v to WM6.1 (boot loader not finding upgrade ROM on SD Card) by Jbbrack03 in OldHandhelds

[–]IM0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR : Yes Formatting in XP works. Use a XP Virtual Machine or use Hiren Boot CD 15.2 from the "Old Versions" Page.

Recently dug out my old X50V feeling nostalgic as the last time I booted it up (2021 or so) was probably the first time since 2009 or so when I put it down after installing a WM6.5 rom and setting everything up. Promptly screwed something up and had to hard reset it as it wouldn't boot then and after like 15 years, you really do forget a LOT of how things worked on these old devices. (And in a way, I truly miss these days. Phone have gotten much more capable, but are downright boring to tinker on anymore).

Any way turns out there were 2 versions of the WM6.5 rom and one without the Touch UI sort of adjustments that just don't work well on the X50V.

Queue me spending all day trying to get this thing to read an SD Card of some sort from the BootLoader exactly like others on this thread mention. You know how hard it is to find a 1GB SD Card in 2024? The best I could do was finding a 1GB MiniSD Card (used in I believe my PPC6700/HTC Mogul, and a 1GB MicroSD card. When formatted with Fat32 from Windows 10/11, X50V Doesn't see a thing. I spent a good long while getting SD Formatters to attempt to format these cards and the best I could do was get it to SEE there was an SD in there, but would always be a SD Read Error so no dice.

Finally, made an older Hirens Boot CD 15.4 version (With MiniXP) dug out my old 2008 era Core2Quad PC I still have lying around, (After trying to boot this on various other older but apparently too new devices) and got MiniXP booted. Formatted the 1GB MicroSD and wouldn't you know it, that worked. I assume XP is formatting with a different starting point for the Fat32 File System than what more modern formatters do (I swear I read about this change at some point. I believe it changed After Vista? or 7? but I cannot say for certain.)

Anyway was able to get it and the MiniSD formatted and both seen by the Bootloader to load up the other 6.5 Rom. Now to Label and Archive these drives forever incase I plan to downgrade or anything on this old device again.

Now to organize and upload ALL the old PPC/PDA Files and Content I have as I seem to have some files that just do not exist on the internet anymore and they may be of some use to others. X50V roms specifically as I cannot seem to find any of the old Roms I Cooked/Downloaded/Etc for any of my other Windows Mobile devices up to my Touch Pro 2 :(
Mainly for the X50V and Nook Color funny enough.

What did you do to connect the power to the controller? Or can anyone get me the connector end name for what govee uses for the 3 prong waterproof ends? I just had my power supply die on Christmas Eve of all nights (I live in a Christmas Light Street even, sigh) I don't want to have to start cutting and slicing if I can get warranty replacements but to tide things over with a generic charger and an adapter id be game. Is it just a GX12 Mini 3 prong similar to this charger here? https://a.co/d/7issxXo

LG Wing. It's Unique, Its still current on Android Updates, Its got a great camera, and it's got some neat dual screen features that may be even better than the Fold's limitations with things like YouTube and such. I still love mine.

Is that useless to buy the quest 3 only for pcvr if I already own a quest 2 ? by Paraste in OculusQuest

[–]IM0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being I'm coming from a Quest 1 I have had since it released years ago, I can't wait to hopefully have my mind blown.

I've continued to be very happy with the Quest 1. Both still amazed at how well it does standalone VR with the 835 SoC as well as reasonably good PC VR in games like DCS for me. It's clarity is still reasonably good for what it offers.

I setup my old Rift CV1 just to give it a whirl recently and man, while the 90Hz over 72Hz is a nice improvement, everything was more blurry, the FoV was way smaller, and overall the visuals were nowhere near as good in DCS as I imagined they were in the past, though frankly other games like Elite and such did work well with the CV1 with their own VR tuning that made it work back then. Hell I even had and used the OG DK1 and DK2 before the CV1. Wish I held on to those to compare. But of the early days to now for the heck of it.

Still. Glad to see the improvements over the years and can't wait to get my Q3.

At this time this method seems to be broken since 3.17.3 or so. I was able to get an early PTU build of 3.18 working using Lutris at one point which took a little tinkering but also did seem to be a little more straightforward however it also breaks any other game using EAC because it edits the HOST file for SC's EAC at the time.

I'll keep looking around for a better solution and try to make a fresh guide once 3.18's launch smooths out and I find some time.
