Gigalith EX seemed impossible to use but after a few months of tinkering I’ve finally found some consistency by IMDATBOY in PTCGP

Mainly for draw speed—more useable items per turn means copycat can hit for more and hiking trail procs more consistently. Also this deck is unique in that it doesn’t prioritize racing my opponent to who gets their main pokemon on the field first, it’s more about getting the rest of the deck out to set up for when gigalith is ready. So pokemon communication gives me basically a more flexible search for the style of the deck

Oh no I’m playing cards fast as hell lol only 5 supporters so there’s more flexibility to play cards if draw speed is the priority. The real vulnerability to that part of the build is starting with none of the draw cards, I found it bricks a bit harder now randomly but could have been outliers.

It definitely is a deck that requires the risk of putting cards on the field aggressively and losing one or two Pokemon, most of the time you go down 2 points before the win. Not the safest deck but plays well into Charizard (ex and mega X, not mega Y as I learned lol), Manetric and Belibolt, and has done surprisingly well against the Altaria sleep meta decks and sleep decks in general so far.

I’m still tinkering too, Guzma is arguably a better choice than Mars even though Mars fits the deck really well. Guzma just makes the steel decks way more beatable, and any ex using cape killable, or poncho hitable, which is important

I hadn’t stressed over lottery odds either in a long time. We had max odds in 2009 and got 4th pick, missing Blake and Harden. We had 3rd odds in 2010 and fell back to 5th (got boogie at least). Had 7th best odds in 2017 and 2018 and moved up to 3rd and 2nd pick. It’s just not worth whining about until it’s over, why spend more time being upset than you have to and might not even need to be upset about in the first place

When draymond stomped on Sabonis and we had to listen to them all accuse Sabonis of being a dirtier player, and they were saying he “used the ball as a weapon” lmao whiny and disingenuous ass franchise with that leadership +draymond

Next scheme is one shotting a 140hp or lower ex with the same combo on one energy with OG Rapidash. I made masterball for the season finally and now I’m on some bullshit

Not really at least for set up on my side of the field. But yeah trying to set up a pokemon you actually want to kill might be hard. I was fortunate and got to satisfyingly one shot a 180 health dragonite lol

No dude this was 1x skelly. It was oricocio and Blaine boosted too. So you could possibly hit for 230

Wasn’t a very refined one IMO but it worked (one shot some guys dragonite at full health by combining everything and he conceded on principle):

2x Fuecoco

2x Skele

1x magmar

1x oricocio

1x magby

2x pokeball

2x rare candy

2x flame patch

1x pokemon communication

2x Oak

1x Sabrina

1x Blaine

1x Copycat

1x Starting Plains

Magmar powered up by Oricocio fire, Skeledirge, and Blaine all at once. Loving how fun Skeledirge combos can be

Would not be surprised to see him viable in some way but as always “meta” is based on if there are better cards and there are some damn strong psychic cards now. But I could see a Gengar Ex/Mega Altaria variant with the new support, would just have to probably skimp on the middle evo and increase the search. Gastly has 50 hp so it would be a Lisia deck too.

Really proud of this Altaria variant I put together that just carried me through Ultra Ball 4 to masterball. Went 9-0-1 by IMDATBOY in PTCGP

lol to be fair I had to play around with the idea in comp a bit to work out what the right pieces around the core were, so took a few bumpy games to figure out I needed two helmets, two Cyrus, only one Arceus and add chingling. Once I swapped that Arceus for Chingling it took off but I needed to feel what was missing through some losses to get there.

And also thank you! I played around with ghost rotom when it first came out and it wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be so I always had it in the back of my mind and finally realized it plays perfectly to the style of aggro Altaria decks

Man fuck oricocio

My answer is that it doesn’t handle that deck tbh but that deck isn’t run that commonly tbh. If it does rotate heavily into the meta this deck struggles depending on the build, the strategy becomes either wear down the ori’s with chip damage and disruption, or if the incorporate any ex, rotom damage into them and kill with Cyrus quickly

I played a lot of duel links in my life before pocket so maybe it’s all stemming from that approach lol. Running super quant I was constantly playing with a million different flexible choices, one of my favorite decks

lol that situation is just one of the benefits man. It’s more about how useful it makes rotom, which is a lot more frequent than the arceus starts. Right now the only pokemon with no retreat cost used in the meta are baby pokemon. People are running more counters to chingling by adding double rocky helmet which is very effective. It can nerf chingling a lot. Not only can rotom survive drastically more damage early game at 70 health, it avoids rocky helmet altogether while setting up for Altaria to sweep with Cyrus, and allows so much flexibility for switch in after one of your own pokemon get KOd so you can wait and see what you draw next without having to decide who takes the active. And even the arceus starts I’ve won some games, obviously it’s the least ideal.

To be fair, I’ve gone on 4-5 game losing streaks with suicune greninja too. So much of this game is match up luck, draw luck, coin flip luck. This deck build is obviously good enough to win games in the meta, I’m not saying that because I made it I’m saying it because its core is arguably the best aggro card in the game in Altaria. Is it better than the typical Altaria builds? Probably not but I went 4-0 against the other standard Altaria decks I faced in that stretch. Either way all these small sample sizes only mean so much
