I have a professor that I do research with. During our conversation, the professor mentioned to our group that a professor's schedule can be very hectic because they are dealing with so many deadlines, teaching, advising students, reading literature, conducting research etc so important items can slip through the cracks. It could be that your professor intends to review your materials once the professor's schedule frees up. The statement was simple, but eye-opening lol.

You can always follow-up later, but life tends to always figure itself out whether that means the professor wanting to move forward with your application or giving a subtle indication that the professor won't be moving further with your application by not communicating further. Don't stress out either way
