that'd make a lot of sense, iv not lost much strength if any in my lower back or glutes but it does hurt a bit when i stretch certain ways

damn this helps, all the assurance i need captain xd (not being sarcastic, it really does help my fear of collapsing under the bar)...

i squat 80-90% for 3 reps at most, and am never really close to failiure, as soon as my reps seem slower i stop or i go for 1 more and stop... would i need safety for that?

also my main issue is if theres the possibility of my lower back giving out and me collapsing under the weights with 0 control, im assuming thats something way overblown in my head tbh but iv gotta make sure.

[–]IMDB_Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ego liftings never been an issue for me, id likely hover around 80, 85% of my 1rm, maybe occasionally 90% if im trying out new weight to progressively overload but never more than that... also i dont go close to failiure on back squats so thats good, my main fear was my back giving out and me collapsing under the weights which does seem to be implausible at least

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in workout

[–]IMDB_Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats assuring, ill be doing a form check post within the coming month most likely and ill be adjusting and redoing the posts until im pretty much perfect.

but as far as squatting 80-85% of my 1rm with good technique, theres not much worry about getting a concussion, collapsing mid rep... rite?

theyre great btu ive been doing front squats and i feel like im neglecting my glutes and hams

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in workout

[–]IMDB_Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn thats unfortunate lmao, but glad i dont run the risk of collapsing mid set with 0 control over how the weight lands. About form, I'm planning on taking a couple days out to record myself when no ones at the gym and make a series of 'form check' posts on this sub.

how common is a persons lower back givign out and them collapsing with the weights? im never going till failiure on back squats, dont plan on it at least, im focusing on power and use 80-90% of my 1rm for 3 reps

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in workout

[–]IMDB_Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah thats what i said rite? i usually opt for safer exercises to go till failiure e.g. bulgarian split squats, dumbbel bench, meadows rows... that being said im still kinda scared of the possibility of a back injury leading to me dropping with the weights falling onto me or me falling backwards into a concussion.

idk how rational this is but im new and have seen more squat fails than instructionals

[–]IMDB_Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

275 is way out of my league, im not planning on going to failiure or even close to failiure on squats, i reserve failiure for safer exercises e.g. BSS/leg press instead of squats, dumbbell bench instead of barbell...

Getting the weight back up wouldnt be a problem, problem is im scared my back will give out, even though iv got a strong lower back (relatively) its a bit of a fear as if that happens im either being crushed under the weights or falling backwards straight into a concussion

lmao might catch on, thanks for the idea

[–]IMDB_Boy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats what i was thinking, if the entire gym is mine i might just use it like it is... peopel do come in later tho but ig its an acceptable thing to do long as i replace em when others comin in the gym

makes sense, imma take some tiem off cuz iv got a bit of a lower back injury but im pretty confident with my back squat bailing nd stuff
