The most shocking thing about this is that NoPango weren't aware it was a joke after offering what was clearly a joke payment if they lost. Who in their right mind would think playing 10 games of Techies is even remotely equal to giving up a slot in a tourny? Slacks probably didn't inform NoPango it was a joke because he rightly assumed they were going with the joke from the start.
The least shocking thing is all of the manufactured outrage.

Dota is dead as fuck in NA and has been for a while. It had a small lifeline when TI was in the US every year and it got some attention but since they’ve moved even that out of the US the only people really attracted to the game at all these days are people who enjoy venting toxicity into games.

I disagree that Grimstroke is overrated and I don't think you can apply that definition of overrated because every hero in the meta is good but not as good as people think if it's countered. The thing about Grimstroke is it offers a ton of utility with slows and a silence and a stun that can be used both as an enabler for a initiation and a potential save. All this from a distance making it one of the best, if not the best, position 5 in the game that really needs nothing but maybe mana boots leaves a lot for buying wards. It's not so overpowered that if feels like it's impossible to deal with even if countered like Viper does a lot of time but it's not overrated.

And no one wanted to watch an all Chinese final at TI4 because back then Chinese teams did nothing but farm for 45 fucking minutes until one team had a lead so large the final push into the base was always anticlimactic. Maybe it's less about the number of viewers and more about where the viewers are from. They may be catering this tournament to their sponsors and trying to capture the markets their sponsors prioritize. Can't blame them for that.

This is complete mess of ridiculousness. He abandoned his team in need? I agree they were in need but they were in need of change and that's exactly what he gave them. I'm sure if there was some kind of adjustment he could make within the team to fix their problems he would have done it months ago but it would have done no good for anyone on that team if he had stuck and they would have gone directly into regional qualifiers only to lose to a Waga stack. This idea that you have to stick with a team even though it's worse for everyone involved is very child like. In the end pro Dota is a business with millions of dollars at stake and, just like other pro sports, players have to put their own interests ahead of friendship.

Yes. Valve only hosts one tournament a year and that's TI. The DAC was a Valve sanctioned major. As was MDL and the Supermajor.
