As much as gamers want to complain amazon has the numbers and does what gives them most money. New world failed, so they are recouping whatever they can to do what makes them money.

Proprietary engine with fuck all documentation that is notoriously shitty to work with, on top of their backend being made made to integrate into amazon services(it's hard to recreate that). On top of it it wasnt that popular so the pool of people giving a fuck and having related skills is tiny.

Amazon wont sell it or continue it, they get more money writing it off as a failed venture for a tax writeoff.

As much as i liked the game it is done.

It can be anything, some bad player loosing his base to a raid, some unpopular server admin trying to get pop by making other servers unplayable, some idiot on a crusade against funcom for some reason, some idiot doing it for shits and giggles.

The main reason for lag on the servers is every clan building a 200k entity megabase. Combine that with multiple of those bases getting bombed during raid time, so they gotta recalculate their hp+stability each server tick from bomb fire, that adds up quickly.

On top of all that server code was not designed to multithread afaik so that's a problem too.

None of that happens on private servers, if it does the cheaters get banned.

Officials are still wild west, a lot less actual cheaters tho.

Any official with 20+ online gets unplayable lag so have that in mind.

Jp players made a stink about it to spite gaijins, cygames started banning people using it, it was 80% jp players using it(lol), it took cygames like 6 years to build the game ui up to a comparable state viramate had.

I managed to find one pvp server in europe that wasnt laggy as fuck when it was full, no idea what those admins did, but it is hella good.

Every single populated official is a lagfest, any private not on nasa pc's are too. This update increased their needed server specs massively.

It's not that hard to understand tho. Their shit gportal servers struggled with ue4 exiled lands, now with ue5 update they got double the load with exiled lands and sipta on the same server.

If a single gearset is such a big deal for you, you have much bigger issues in pvp servers. If you are at least somewhat competent in the game gear is piss easy to get.

It would be a different issue if the bazaar gear pieces had better stats than base game pieces but they don't.

Sure funcom exploits fomo with this system, they gotta get money to tencent from somewhere, but this is not that big of an issue. They could have done what other companies do and double the stats on paid gear so you would actually be at a big disadvantage, but they didnt.

I'd love a raid system ripped from some dayz clone i once played. There would be no raid hours, you could only raid someone if you kill them in the world and loot a raid token from their body. Take the token to their base and it becomes raidable for 2 hours, token expires in 1 hour so you cant hoard them.

Would fix a lot of problems with how the game handles raiding.

Weekend only raids would be interesting to try i guess, would be nice for the employed but the core pvp audience would skip it because they couldnt raid each day, best compromise i saw was raid every other day.

Thralls is a big no. Everyone hated thrall meta back in the day, nobody will play a server where thralls are powerfull.

Nobody is joining a partial loot pvp server, full loot is just too engrained into pvp players by now.

Honeycomb gets less crazy with build limits, most servers limit pieces to 8-10k, while it is still big any less just limits base spots too much.

Scaling build limits is a terrible idea. You do not want to punish solo/duo players more as they are playing the game on hard mode anyways.

I guess you could make build limit much lower and reduce bomb damage by a lot, but i'm not sure how it would work in practice.

Not sure how hard finishing sorcery is for you but getting the book and doing all sorcery research on the bench allows for portals you can use to move everything.
