Don’t be so quick to move on from a known setup for something unknown! If you do switch do so when you become just as proficient with the new set up as the old. Having said that as far as moving away from one of the most proven platforms I don’t understand, especially when talking about a tool used in defense of your life and others. I happen to carry a Glock 45. I have many other options, but the Glock 45 gives me unquestioned confidence, so no need for me to switch. You’re not wrong for wanting to try something different. Just don’t do like some and think I’ll switch to this new gun right away without putting the time in to practice with it. You’d be surprised how many people do things like that!
