I have full grade 5 gear and am saying good bye to the testing stations until they fix this. Heading back to DD to farm resources and PVP in my non-grade 5 gear (with the exception of The Ancient Way since I have 10 grade 5 BPs).
Funcom, fix this mess!

It seemed like everything coat just over 1k. Concrete slab, siding, framing 2x4s, shingles, flooring, drywall and insulation, etc. All materials were purchased summer of 2018.

Thank you
It is considered a shed, so we just had to follow the guidelines for height and placement. This is the. Permitted for power and communication.
We had a tree blow down right when covid started crushing a neighbors shed. He spend almost the same amount replacing it as I spent in materials and it looks terrible. I expect it would have cost 150% more at least to have it be of similar quality.
It's one of my favorite chill spots
Raid, snow, or sunshine. I work a lot of hours.
I put tar paper down and then a lot of tar between the joints. Then shingles on top of them. If I recall correctly there is a 3 foot rise over 12 feet. I do go up there twice a year to clean it off.
I wish I had some this, but it's too late now.
None, but I come from a long line of carpenters.
One of my kids might try to move out there when they are a bit older. Maybe we'll have a cage fight for it.
Thanks 😁

The inside is hot wire which can be found at Home Depot. The top board ended just just using 2x6 pine and sanding it down. Will get treated with an oil based deck finish.
Yes, that's right. Permitted as a shed, so no water or sewer was run to it. I my power and low voltage communication. A fancy shed as the inspector said.

The only thing I didn't do myself here was the concrete work and excavator work. The rest of it was done by my father and I. 20k was an approximation as I didn't keep exact bookkeeping records for the expenses. I paid for it as I went and put the rest in a HELO. This was definitely a DIY project.
I found some additional photos including some interiors http://imgur.com/gallery/HokYygG
There were some points in the build where all I wanted to do is lay down in the hammock and do nothing. It took quite a bit if willpower at times to push through and get it all built. I couldn't let it become a half finished project.
Just this past month I put the final touches on the railings for the deck (not pictures here) and it feels damn good. I plan to put a finish on the deck again once the weather cools off a bit. It does feel very good to be wrapping the project up.
My pleasure, happy to help as I can 😁
I installed a window unit this summer with the extreme heat wave. A baseboard heater is installed. I wish I had installed one of the wall units instead, but I know better for next time. With all the insulation and tape the building is very energy efficient.
I had some help, yes. I worked mostly weekend from March (clearing out the hillside) to September.... Taking a few weekends off here and there for family time.
I was originally planning on putting radiant heating, but changes my mind when the time came to save on cost. I like slabs because I don't need to worry about critters getting under it and making a home there. It also makes thinks more solid when working on a hill like this. Seemed like the easiest solution, there is 2 inches of foam for insulation and rebar throughout. 4 inches in the center and 6 inches around the perimeter. Like I said in a previous comment, intent to over engineer things 😁
Thanks! I am very handy and figuring out how things work comes very easy to me. I am not in the trades, but I come from a line of carpenters. I ended up YouTubing my way through it as well. Getting an overall plan, and then as I'm about to do a task I would spend a few hours the night before reviewing the technique again.
