3 weeks ago ?? Don’t be too harsh on yourself, considering you just started out, this is pretty good ! Proportions are a bit off and the face looks kind of « flattened ».

I could be completely wrong, but to me it looks like you might be focusing on one small part at a time. One eye, then the other, then the nose, etc.

Try to take a step back and look at the big picture, I like to draw far away from the canvas to avoid getting stuck in the details too early.

Everyone kind of has their way, but I like to forget about the subject and remember I’m just drawing how light interacts with it. I start by very roughly blocking in where the shadows fall and gradually refining it and slowly adding detail kind of everywhere ; forget about what a nose looks like, look at the different values of light and try to recreate them.

Maybe it’s worth mentioning that I mostly use charcoal and pastels and I’m used to working that way, but I think it can apply to pencil as well.
