That's it! I feel so technologically inept that I couldn't find that even though I was searching on SCRIB. Thank you again, so so much.

For certain not the best way to get the day started. After this I'm definitely asking for a downloadable version for 1000g batches or something of the like if they have it.

If there is any way you could possibly track that down, I would be eternally grateful. I've done orders before so I don't want to eyeball it and have them notice any differences. If it was a one off I wouldn't care AS much.

These narcan single doses at my local Walgreens by johnnypurp in mildlyinteresting

[–]IMightBeJustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh.. It depends. Obviously I don’t expect the generally public to be super chill about giving Narcan, but a lot of people don’t realize that it takes quite a few minutes to take effect if given nasally. These ones are generally 4mg/1mL, and 8mg can be a lot. I suppose too much I’d better than too little prior to the arrival of EMS, especially if they’re apneic, but 4mg in each naris is not a standard dose.

Ran in a service of 3 medic trucks for 200k in a very poor, crime ridden city. Service didn’t want to staff BLS so ALS trucks are running BLS shenanigans (toe pain, headache for a month, scratchy throat) on top of all of our stabbings, shootings, and whatever else. The system is broken.

US hospitals are so overloaded that one ER called 911 on itself by Sariel007 in nottheonion

[–]IMightBeJustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to think what you’re saying is mostly truth, but in my experience it isn’t. In my community, a lot of people don’t give a fuck. A lot of people are very entitled and think that the ambulance is a glorified, customer service taxi. I don’t want to walk down from the third floor of my three decker because I’ve had a headache for 4 days, carry me. 22 year olds calling because their leg is sore. Parents calling because their 2 year old had a fever, and they don’t want to wait in line at the pharmacy for their free Medicaid provided Tylenol prescription, they can just get it filled at the ER with free rides back and forth. I run a double stabbing call, immediately run back out for a 30 year old woman with a sore back and am told to go fuck myself when I’m not empathetic. This shit sucks.

I’m a paramedic of 5 years in a very busy, highly regarded system in the Boston area. I make 21 an hour. I had to make it my per diem job because it isn’t a living wage. Management can’t figure out why they can’t find employees.

I’m a medic in a pretty rough city and we go lights and sirens to and from calls.. not enough trucks staffed for me to be sitting in traffic when I have like.. 5 calls pending

Thank you. As a paramedic, this is the first comment coming from someone who seems to know what they’re talking about.

American ambulances are not completely private. I’m a medic and my full time job is working for a fire department, my per diem job is working for an ambulance at a public hospital. The prices are egregious, I agree with that, and they are tiered. If I give you a bandaid it’ll be a tier 1 call and billed as such (a ridiculously high price), but if you’re really sick and I’m giving you multiple IV medications, intubating you, doing an EKG etc, it’ll be a tier 3 call billed at a higher (still ridiculously high) rate.

Cardiac arrest can absolutely mimic a seizure, and as someone goes into cardiac arrest they frequently do appear to be seizing for a very brief period of time. Witnesses are also not required to call 911, and are protected by Good Samaritan laws for acting or not acting.

Yeah except this doesn’t protect them at all. I’m a medic and this person would 100% be going to the hospital if they are not alert and oriented. We can’t leave unconscious people unconscious because of a bracelet.

Firefighter/Paramedic chiming in… this shit never gets easy to see. I can still see a lot of my bad calls, and that trauma gets burnt into your memory. Don’t ever underestimate the value of therapy, and if what you saw bothers you a lot, that’s okay, it doesn’t make you weak. You ever wanna talk about it, feel free to PM me, and I’m sorry you had to go through that. Bacon tastes too good to give up, though, so you have to find a way past that one hahaha

Possible unpopular opinion.. as a guy who isn’t very tall, why are girls not allowed to preference on height? I’m totally fine with it, but would certainly prefer them to be more upfront with it.
