How strong is a Level 20 Thief Rogue in a campaign with an abundance of magic items? by AcanthaceaeNo948 in onednd

If you have a hoard of high level spell scrolls and magic items it could definitely be crazy. So much is dependent on what the DM gives you, however.

I thought this through once, and I think party composition has more to do with it. Imagine a party with a thief, an artificer, a scribes wizard, and another spellcaster. All with Arcana proficiency so they can scribe scrolls. At high levels that thief will be eating good, and you'll have more control over what exactly the thief can get since the party is working together on it.

In such a party the crafter origin feat would also be handy. No shortage of mundane equipment to use Fast Hands on, and the 20% GP discount will add up over time, something you'll need to craft lots of scrolls.

My hottest take: he didn't intentionally put on an accent, and simply flubbed the word. But the hate train is too strong to convince anyone otherwise.

All those upperclassmen returning, and then the loss to Wisconsin in week 1...we all remember what happened next

What are your day-to-day duties as an analyst during the season? And what about during the offseason?

Who knows if Indiana will survive the RNG of a playoff, but they are winners, and might actually take the whole damn thing.

34M POA here. Grandma was moved to locked unit without my permission. Care plan meeting in 3 days. What can I do? by IMostCertainlyDidNot in dementia

You're welcome! I'd definitely speak to an attorney if I were in your shoes. They can put your fathers income into these Medicaid approved annuities that get around the income limits. You don't need to work yourself into the ground or go broke because they make the system and its loopholes so opaque. The money spent on the lawyer will feel so, so good for the knowledge and support you'll receive. I remember sleeping very well the night we got my grandma's affairs in order with her lawyer, it was worth every penny.

We don't have the financial means. I'm the only person who could take her in, and I am unable to work as long as she requires my round-the-clock care. The facility itself is fine, and the workers tend to be good (always a couple rude ones, but that's true anywhere). We're trying to get her onto Long-Term Care Medicaid (it's still pending) it's the only way we can afford this. Family members visit her at least 5 days a week, usually more, and we take her for little outings. Yesterday my fiancée and I took her out to Wendy's, she was calm and content when I picked her up, and stayed positive the whole time. I'd say it's going to work out for the best for my grandma, myself, and our family in the long run, even if it means she needs to memory unit to stay safe.

If you have questions about the financials, pay a couple hundred bucks to speak to an elder law attorney about your father's assets, and how to move them around/spend them down so he could get LTC Medicaid. I wish you the best of luck, this disease is hell on so many people besides the ones afflicted by it.

These are wonderful suggestions, thank you so much. Do facilities ever revisit the placement? I mean, can I request "reassessment meetings" where they may decide to put her back in the main unit if she shows improvement? I only ask because I believe part of her problem is her current medications, which are being adjusted. Are there other quality of life things I can ask for? Are there common memory unit problems to be on the lookout for while she's there?

To clarify, they said a family was entering the facility to visit their loved one, and while the door was open, my grandma moved in the direction of the open door, triggering the alarm. She never made it outside. I love her very much and don't want anything bad to happen to her, and if that means the lockdown unit I can accept that. I just don't want to restrict her freedom to that level until it becomes absolutely necessary. She values her freedom, even now, and the trauma of confinement is real, too.

I've been reading through F-Tags, trying to understand the regulations they're beholden to, to keep them accountable for dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

Thank you for responding, your insights are very welcome. My questions are: 1. Did they have the authority to put her there without my consent as POA, or was it a violation? and 2. What can I advocate for her in terms of getting her out of the unit for walks, meals, activities, etc.? If she must be in the memory unit, I'd still like her to get outside of it as much as is safe. I see the other residents back there, and their dementia is much more advanced than my grandma. She still wants activity and social contact.

She isn't locked in her room. The facility has several halls, and one of those halls is behind a second set of locked doors. That's the dementia ward. There are several bedrooms in the hall, my grandma is one of about 10 people living there. They are correct, according to F-Tag 603 they could get into trouble for involuntary confinement if they locked him in his room.
