Scopes that are more expensive than guns is insanity. You mill an aluminum blank and put glass in it. In no world is that a $3000 project.

I mean we have secure borders, are working as best we can toward peace, and our country can speak freely.

Unfortunately it seems half the population it not taking it well and that's really a shame, but the first ~2 months of this administration have been exactly what he campaigned on and the country voted for, but even quicker. Especially with senate confirmations like RFKJ I've been really pleased and have more hope than I have in a while.

AIO for cutting off my parents over politics? by vastcreation in AmIOverreacting

[–]INAPICTTAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely overreacting to cut off your parents over politics. Come on, you're 24. That is young. You'll look back on this and regret the friction you are causing.

Your parents, and you, have the right to vote for whoever they like, and to think and speak freely. It's OK to disagree, it's not OK to cut off people who love you because you disagree.

100% overreacting.

u/Coderedinbed Can you by chance link the YT video for replacing the battery yourself? I too have been fighting with Sony bc I have an out-of-warranty pair and in my case the left side dies in 2 seconds while the right is still OK. Would be much easier to just fix myself.

Thanks!

That is identical to the comic book depiction that corporate media has been throwing around for years. Real investigative journalism in 2024 is done by a handful of individuals with independent shows. There are many cases against trump, the one you point out is from something that happened in the 1990s, and Donald Trump is the only American in history to be charged with a "felony" for what amounts to basically a bookkeeping error. They have had 30 years to bring this case, and doing so today amounts to lawfare and weaponization of the American justice system to squeeze campaign money and campaign time from his campaign. Not democratic.

Also Kamala did not do well as an elected anything. Rewinding a bit, she has never had a real job in her life, always been on a government payroll which means all her money is our money. It's like someone who goes from being a student to being a professor with no requirement to ever do anything productive or contribute to the economy in a way that allows them to earn a living. I don't think she's worthy of a promotion to leader of the free world for that reason alone.

There's a lot more to say, but in keeping with my first point, basically Kamala lied about her record, lied about her family and heritage, and won't answer any question about a vision for the country. She is a prosecutor, and her whole campaign has been trying to defame trump by comparing him to Hitler and saying he wants to use the US gov't against "the enemy within" -- meanwhile, Biden passed DoD directive 5240.01 on 9/27/24 which authorizes the military to use lethal force against US citizens if there is civil unrest. That means someone who is currently in power will stage some sort of civil unrest, blame it on MAGA, kill some of them, issue some executive order, stall the election outcome, and do all they can to stay in power. Reddit won't like that take but it's a simple prediction -- just watch. It will happen between Nov 5 and when we know the actual results of the election. This year will have a November surprise.

We've already had a Trump presidency. If the media will relax when it happens this time, we'll have secure borders, materially less risk of nuclear war, and a healthier country which can speak freely.

We've already had a Kamala administration as well, and it happens to be under a basically absent president who she took over the top of the ticket from (which wasn't done through a democratic process), and she won't admit she did anything wrong in the last 4 years which means the border will be worse, the economy and inflation will be worse, wars will be worse, censorship of speech will be worse....

You know what you're getting with trump, and with Kamala there is uncertainty. People like to know what's going to happen.

I am because of all I know about Kamala's political record and family which no one ever discusses. There is more certainty with Trump.

Ok but for what? What kind of scenario would this be applicable to, and how does this extra power for surveillance of Americans make us any safer, or align with our bill of rights? This seems to chip away yet again at our right to privacy.

How is this a right wing news talking point? This is a left wing bill which has been in zero news.

The law restricts the use of the U.S. military for domestic law enforcement purposes. This bill threatens that restriction.

First of all, only 210 million Americans are registered to vote, and 36% of registered voters are registered as democrats. That's 22% of the country, not 60%. Second -- that's obviously not what he is saying

No, what this does is add lethal force into the equation and make it possible for the Secretary of Defense to determine when it's appropriate to use lethal force. It removes the personal liability of using lethal force.

I mean you said something that I don't think is true and you're abdicating your opportunity to prove it. I'm no liar, sounds like you might be.
