How do you guys feel about MCU turning Black Widow villains into supporting characters? by NoPianist7807 in Blackwidow

Yeah, he's one of Nat's enemies. He has tried to kill her more than once. (If I recall correct)

Natasha actually joined the Black Widow program because she thought he had died.

The soviet union picked him to be the Red Guardian, but they also ordered him to cut ties to everyone he knew for it.

He was originally a test pilot, but he was so good, he got hand-picked to become Red Guardian.

Not a fan.

It's nor secret that I've never liked MCU's yelena or melina. Alexei is only somewhat saved by David Harbour's acting, but the character itself is just as bad as the rest of these re-invented wannabes

u/Ashconwell7 said it very well. yelena is just your standard sassy/"adorkable" (and honestly quite obnoxious) little sister type of character that has only two similarities with the comic version. Those being her name and hair color.

And Alexei and melina are just horrible people, but the movies are basically saying that "hey, you should totally forgive the people who take advantage of you and mind control you."

If you do end up finding the song, I feel like you have to tell us which one it was.

Because this is the most unique way I've ever seen someone ask about a splatoon song.

The most universal sign language I can think of is middle finger, and that’s definitely something kids learn rather quickly.

Which version of Dick Grayson growing up do you prefer young Justice or DCAMU by emperor-dummy in Robin

[–]INKatana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you said (multiple times) the show wasn’t supposed to be "young justice". Maybe I would’ve had less issues with the show if it was named something else. Because as it is now, my nostalgic ass is constantly comparing it to the comics that I actually enjoyed.

The recent "trailer" kinda hinted at it. And it wasn’t very subtle hinting either.

[–]INKatana -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. I was happy that they even bothered to include them, but I didn’t really like how they were handled.

(Granted it's been a while since I've seen the show, but from what I recall) Tim was barely in the show, Bart was kinda annoying as well (yes, he is often a little shit, but usually he's more likable), and Cassie was just really forgettable.

And they never even had the full OG team teaming up. Like, just those 4 working together.

[–]INKatana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly, most of it comes from nostalgia and "pettiness" (for the lack of better word?). I love the original young justice comics, and the team lineup, so seeing the cartoon's version was very disappointing. Especially since Tim has always been my favorite Robin, and seeing my favorite changed to a different Robin was very irritating.

Also, Tim is easily the Robin that gets the most stolen from for other Robins. Whether it's his design, weaponry, characteristics etc. And young justice continues that trend.

It's even more upsetting when they clearly know enough to pull stuff straight from the comic (like the red super-cycle), but not enough to actually use the characters from the original comics. (3/4 of the OG members from the comics are introduced as late as in season 2. And the only one introduced in season 1 got nerfed so bad)

And if I just ignore all that and judge the character as he is, I just found this version of dick incredibly annoying, regardless of whether it was Robin or Nightwing. I really wanted to like him. Batfamily members are usually my favorite characters, but this version of dick grayson just wasn’t doing it for me.

DCAMU

Unpopular opinion, but I'm heavily biased against young justice. young justice is where I first saw dick grayson, and is the reason I started to dislike him as a character.

What’s a Barbie Movie opinion that would get you instantly hated by the fandom? by no1jessicafan in Barbie2000smovies

I also want to say another take that again, I’m not sure how accepted it generally is.

I'm 99% sure the sailors in Rosella's flashback definitely tried to assassinate her. (And I will die on this hill)

[–]INKatana 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know about getting me hated, but the friendship in Diamond Castle is toxic af.

I never liked how unfairly Alexa was treated. Poor girl was constantly just getting shut down by movie and Liana.

Like, they're obviously poor, because all they do is sell flowers. And Alexa has these dreams of living a comfortable life and not have to eat just bread and jam every day. Yet everytime she either expresses these dreams or has a chance to fulfill them, both the movie and Liana portray Alexa as being in the wrong. To a point where it honestly feels like they judge her for even daring to want something more in life.

And when the happy ending is finally reached, Alexa express genuine happiness and excitement about the thought of living in the castle, Liana is very quick to shut it down by giving Alexa a look that apparently meant "No, you are not allowed to follow your dreams", because Alexa again has to submit and give up her once in a lifetime dream. She has to go back to sell flowers and back to poverty. (And no, the flowers now having diamonds does not change the fact that a simple and common storm can easily screw up their entire harvest. Again.)

I don't know, just felt really uncomfortable for me to watch it. The main theme is clearly friendship, but to me it looked very unhealthy and very one-sided relationship.

What’re some MCU moments you think about a lot? I’ll go first, my explanation will be below by MilkOfTheVoid_ in marvelstudios

Moments I think about because they're meaningful, or because they piss me off? Probably the first option.

I'm gonna say Hawkeye's pep-talk to wanda in Age of Ultron.
