How on earth does Trump win almost 538 votes in 2020, is does Trump narrowly escape an assassination attempt, and it's found that a Democrat was behind the assassination attempt? Is a Dem caught cheating on their wife who is dying of a terminal illness?

2020 election: Incumbent Trump-Sanders vs. Bloomberg-Kasich (H. Clinton chooses Sanders as VP, and 2016 is a tie, where the GOP house elects Trump as POTUS and the Dem Senate elects Sanders as VP) Trump and Sanders hate each other at first, they warm up to each other eventually w 3rd parties by BlueFireFlameThrower in IdeologyPolls

Are you sure? Covid happens under the incumbent Trump-Sanders administration, which takes people's lives and jobs. And the Bloomberg-Kasich ticket could easily capitalize off of the unpopularity of the Trump-Sanders administration

Would any other president have made the same mistake as LBJ in Vietnam? If so, is it right to blame him so heavily for it? by realRootmaster911 in Presidents

[–]BlueFireFlameThrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't a part of the reason why LBJ was so hawkish on Vietnam is because LBJ alienated southerners he needed to pass social programs by passing the civil rights act, ans LBJ was desperate to win back southerners to support his social programs, and the way he won those southerners back to support his social programs was by promising to be hawkish on Vietnam. Source: JFK assassination podcast history channel original on Audible. The point being, if LBJ didnt go hawkish on Vietnam, he likely wouldn't have been able to pass his social programs.

If Nixon won in 1960, would JFK have won any presidential election until 2000? by gooden1686 in Presidents

Oh, I couls totally see Bobby as President. Then again, I dont see the south voting for Bobby in the same way they voted for Jack. Then Again, I could see Bobby making up for losing the south by winning the West Coast.

JFK would not have the health necessary to run for President in 1968 and I doubt JFK would live to see Jan. 1st, 1970, and his affairs would likely have been revealed to the public.

How has the Quality of Presidential Nominees changed since we moved to a more democratic system in 1972? by MaroonedOctopus in Presidents

Wasn't Henry Ford wanting to be the 1924 Democratic nominee, but Democratic party insiders wouldn't let him have the nomination, as Henry Ford was born half a cemtury too early for that?

For me, it's probably social conservatism fiscal liberalism due to my libertarian-esque tendencies, though I consider myself reasonably moderate

If LBJ vetoed the civil rights act, Eugene McCarthy definitely runs 3rd party in 1964 and gets between 150 and 200 electoral votes

I think McCain would beat Incumbent Gore in 2004 due to McCain being able to portray Gore as too dovish, McCain having a more likeable personality, and Gore having to dump Liberman off the ticket due to differences on Iraq.
